Ok everyone, FIRST PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED with Dojo Hours of operations.
I am implementing a new Thursday night practice and tourney schedule. This is basically how its going to go down.
Tournament Focus Practice:
Station #1: Focus Strategy
Station #2: 1st to 10 (Cabinet)
Station #3: 1st of 5
Station #4: Best of 3
Station #5: 1 game winner stays
Station 1 - Dedicated to in depth character match up training with any elite or character specialist you would like to get training on. This means, sitting in training room together and breaking down match ups you are having trouble with. This can be with just 2 players or others can sit in and help out with the discussion at hand.
Station 2 - This will always be set to first to 10. This will have a sign up sheet attached to it. There have been many nights where a lot of players would like to get a nice first to 10 practice against myself, or tanaka or Deezo. Players can sign up with specific people they would like to have a first to 10 with and we will go in order of the sign ups. Some players might have more first to 10 sign ups then others and that is ok. If 5 people sign up to have a first to 10 with Bokkin, then he will be allowed to play through all his match ups.
Station 3 - Mini First to 5 set ups with the “winner Stays” rule applying. While people are waiting in line for any of the stations, they can jump on this station to get a nice comfortable focused set against whoever is currently on the station.
Station 4 - This will be tournament play set up with “Winner Stays” rule attached. This is to practice in a tournament setting. Play with the mindset of if you lose, you are in the loser bracket or out of the tourney. We need more practice in this setting to help us prepare for major events.
Station 5 - Arcade Mode!! Winner Stays is in effect here. The focus for this station is constant exposure to different characters and players.
Each Station will be labeled and I hope everyone can see the good in this type of set up. Evo was another wake up call for seattle, it is time for us to get serious and really start breaking our match ups down. So we know what is going on. I can not stress enough of how many seattle players came to me talking about they lost a match up cause they just did not have a strategy. We can not have that. For me, as I was raised in Nor cali, one of our biggest loses to So cali was because we were stubborn and did not study all match ups for all of our characters. We ended up losing really bad in the Super SF national. We learned our lessen fast however and is the main reason why Nor cali completely DOMINATED Super Turbo.
So I hope to see you guys soon, lets get serious…cause the Dojo Fighting Game League is coming soon…and we will be ready to take the first crown!!!

Doors open NOW at the DOJO
ps - DOJO has 3 dedicated set ups. As people come in, we need at least 2 more set ups to be brough so we can put the new Tournament Practice into effect. Please hit me up if you can bring one or not.
pss - Food is being prepared early, bring your own drinks (beer, juice, coke etc).
First to 10? Hmm alittle long. 5 is the most games I’ll play in a row. After that it’s hard not to turn on the auto pilot. Aren’t all major tournaments 2 out of 3 sets and rounds? I think a majority of the set ups should be set to standard considering this is what we will have to play in any major tournament.
Also, will there be a tournament today? Hopefully
edit: But then again, grilling people to remember those match ups requires first to 100. It’s been a while since I’ve had some sim practice… COLE
Hey Cole,
thinking about rolling through. can bring a ssfiv/HDR/marvle setup and sticks (since it’s ps3). I’ll call you in a bit…
This sounds like a plan! I’m trying to get on that first to 10 gogogo
I’ll be rolling through around 4:30-5. I’m down to practice.
Cole: I’d like your help breaking down the Seth v Dhalsim match up as well. I want to know whether or not i’ll stick to using Ultra 2 or whether I want to use Ultra 1 and how I’ll go about it.
I’m down to break down a few match ups tonight, so get at me if you want the same in terms of the Seth match up.
What about winners/losers/grand finals? If you go to auto pilot after playing 5 games that’d explain why king got you after he came out of losers in that one dojo tournament…wasn’t losers set 3-2 then winners went 3-1 or something like that?
Also you didn’t have a problem playing a ft10 to get that top spot in the dojo rankings, so what’s the difference now?
