kara fukikiage after a midscreen focus crumple, do any of you guys use it, are you consistent with it, is it worth learning?
Is there anywhere where I can find backthrow meaty setups as the ones in the bible don’t work any more?
I found an approximate unblockable Setup on C.Viper :
Midscreen : Karakusa => S.Hp => Ex Oro => C.Hp => FJ.MK
I do it twice in a match But the setup is really hard , I have to work on an another setup but now i know I can find Unblockable With J.Mk
Re-posting the frame data pic, but from Photobcket this time.
MODS: please replace the original pic with this one. :tup:

On Abel , Fei : Mid-screen : karakusa => S.Hp => Ex Oro => S.Lp => C.Mp Hit Forward
karakusa => S.Hp => Ex Oro => C.Lp => C.Mp Hit Xup
“On Abel , Fei : Mid-screen : karakusa => S.Hp => Ex Oro => S.Lp => C.Mp Hit Forward
karakusa => S.Hp => Ex Oro => C.Lp => C.Mp Hit Xup”
Is it me, or it’s not understandable ? what is this setup do exactly ?
Sorry I forgot Jump Hp At the end
karakusa => S.Hp => Ex Oro => S.Lp => C.Mp => Jf.Hp Hit forward
karakusa => S.Hp => Ex Oro => C.Lp => C.Mp => Jf.Hp Hit Xup
Thanks for clarifying, will try these out at a later time.
I’ve been interested in these fake cross-ups in the corner after EX Oroshi so I spent a bit of time in the training room and I worked out some setups for more of the cast.
After EX Oroshi in or very close to the corner:
f+mk > jf. hp will work on
T. Hawk
Fei Long
El Fuerte
Rufus
Zangief (Lariat will whiff)
Blanka (he can EX up ball you though, hits behind him as well unfortunately)
Guile
Hakan
Dee Jay (if he blocks in the right direction though the jf.hp will whiff)
Cammy
M. Bison/Dictator (You can OS s.hk to catch the tail of an escape EX Crusher)
C. Viper
Abel
Juri (EX Pinwheel will whiff completely)
Gouken (He can counter)
Seth
Dudley
Juri
Also, V-Ryu posted a while ago that after EX Oroshi in the corner forward dash*2 jf.hp will fake xup on Ryu, Ken, Viper, Guile, Dictator, Ibuki, Dan, Hakan and Evil Ryu for an easy setup against those characters.
If you manage to land a Karakusa in or very close to the corner then s.hp xx hayate feint > s.mp xx EX Oroshi then a successful fake crossup into s.hp xx hayate feint > s.mp xx EX Oroshi again is pretty much a guaranteed stun for the majority of the cast.
TO TEST FURTHER:
EX Hayate >> LP Fukiage >> Empty Jump Cancel > JF.HP > s.lk > j.mk/j.hp (mk crossup / hp fake)
Works on Ryu (and other shotos)
Haven’t tested on everyone
Karakusa >> S.hp xx EX Oroshi >> Neutral Jump Attack >> J.hp/j.mk (mk crosses up / hp fake)
works on Ryu and other shotos (haven’t tested on others)
ex hayate > lp fukiage > backjump cancel > f+dash > f+mp > lk tsurugi (crosses ibuki up quick stand)
ex hayate > lp fukiage > backjump cancel > f+lk > late lk tsurugi > quick lk tsurugi (ibuki)
This was a copy / paste from a notepad I had open from a training mode session I did last week. I figured you guys would be able to find some more stuff with my lack of testing on everyone. This was all done in the corner. I’ve got a lot more stuff but it’s gotta be fine tuned and I want to complete it all organized instead of releasing it in spurts.
Are you sure?
Yes. In the corner. I did it in match earlier this evening, in fact.
Just wondering how relevant the FAQ in the first post is with regards to what to learn first…
Would you say now that AE (and super for that fact) has been out for a long time that this is still the best things to learn first?
Looking at picking up makoto and she has a lot of tools it would seem. Not worried about being pro, just wanna learn the basics to get me through most games and wondering where to start. A lot of the video tutorials seems out dated or just cover too much information it’s hard for me to break it all down.
I’ve read through bible also, good reference guide but not the best as far as what order to learn things in.
Back to makoto after almost 2 months of “rest”. It’s often the case when i return from japan, because I’m just tooooooo bored to play online after playing in arcade against japanese gods. xD
Ok, I see you were searching for fake crossup jump HP. So i will re-post what i’ve put long time ago. It’s an easy setup which works against Ken, Ryu, Evil Ryu, Viper, Dictator, Guile, Dan, Hakan and Ibuki:
(corner) EX oroshi -> dash*2 -> jump HP
Some other things:
vs Fei (useful after long combo which stun him):
(corner): FA3 -> f+HK (hit airborn) -> backdash -> dash*2 -> jump HP
(corner): FA2-3 -> fukiage -> f+LK -> crossup MK tsurugi
The first thing you need to familiarize yourself with for playing as Makoto is her unique mobility. Her movements are unlike any other character, and becoming intimately familiar with how to position oneself relative to your opponent is paramount. Contrary to popular belief, one does not have to constantly be bulldogging one’s opponent. In fact, it’s often a better idea to trick your opponent into killing himself with a poorly placed fireball/reversal than to be constantly applying relentless pressure.
Vs Viper : Ex Hayate => fukiage => Neutral jump*2 => S.mp => JumpHp
Fake xup if she don’t quick rise
Hi, just started to pick up makoto,
Can anyone give me tips to doing instant air tsurugi? I can do it sometimes ,but i don’t know what i’m doing wrong since i do the same input that usually works.
It like works sometimes and doesn’t work sometimes, while i can do juri’s instant air divekick consistently.
Practice makes perfect. It takes some time to get the timing down and getting it in the your muscle memory. I find it helpfull to do upforward and slide all the way too back. If i dont do that, i tend to miss the down-input.
With juri you can do qcbub for her instant can’t you? That’s a lot easier than makotos. The fastest way I get it out is qcbuf but the timing is strict. Easiest way is like he said with uf then qcb
i got a question, what’s the deal with ex hayate? up close it seems to phase through shit! like one time i went right through ryu’s fireball at point blank range… also, can i use it to punish any of honda’s headbutts?
That phasing through fireballs is just Makoto hitting just as the fireball comes out, because of the pushback of EX hayate the fireball will appear behind you. As for Honda headbutts only mp and hp headbutts are punishable by EX hayate.
