st.HP xx HC, st.MP xx whatever (for damage)
st.HP xx whatever (for ease)

Have you been playing with Alioune? Has he been using Nina and Lili? I’m trying to get some tips/gimmicks/mix-ups for them. Anything he’s been getting you with?

wish i could make up my mind as to who to use. none of the DLC characters interest me either… oh well!

I need help with the kara karakusa.
When I am on the left side (heading right), i can do it sometimes with 6 LK 34 HK. It’s not perfect but I can perform it a few times straight if i’m concentrated.
But on the other side it’s really harder to me. What i try to do is : 4 LK 36 HK.
I feel really slower when i’m heading left. The 4 LK comes out, but the cancel is so much slower. Maybe I should try to do 4 LK 16HK.

Try 6236+LK, 4+HK. If you just get a LK, try to speed up the 6236 part, or make sure your LK is tight.

honestly, when i first started out on sf4 makoto getting the kara kara was soo hard. i kept reading on ways to improve execution, watched videos, but ultimately i don’t think about the inputs anymore when i do it. i know this isn’t much help, but you just gotta get that feel for how you pull it off on either side and practice replicating that with ease. if i’m practicing kara kara in training, i might get it 90% of my training time but if i look at my inputs they’re anything but consistent, but the feeling is always the same, i know it’s going to come out. you gotta get your own hand technique down dude!

FEEL don’t think! lol

Awesome, many thanks. Been considering a pocket Balrog.

Additionally, out of the following list, who do you think might be a good alt for her: Yun, Viper, Seth, Yang?

I suppose Viper, but in a lot of aspects she has a hard time with some of Makoto’s bad match-ups, even if Viper doesn’t necessarily lose in them.

Awesome input, but i only manage to get a kara karakusa once. I’ll try to go on with my own input as Gen said.
I saw that a SPD startting with the forward LK may also do the job.
I still feel weak when heading left. My HCB is too slow after that F.LK.
Thank you for your help.

After I’ve landed HP xx HC -> s.MP on a standing opponent, like, 7 times out of 10, I switched the dummy to crouch and couldn’t land it even once. Therefore I think there’s something about framedata or hitboxes I don’t know. What’s the deal with that?

Today… I have reached my one year anniversary with sf4.

These forums have really slowed down since SFxT release. I went into training mode in AE2012 after playing SFxT (slowly getting into it with Team Spider Lilies - Juri and Lili, might change Lili though… :() and done some combo training. It seemed so much faster and easier to link things in AE2012.

Links definitely do feel easier in SFxT. I’m playing Juri and Lili as well. I had a déjà vu when playing a lot of the other Tekken characters they reminded me a lot of SSF4 Makoto… Free to jump ins and pressure, lol. Glad Lili is at least good at anti-air and decent footsies.

does anyone have setup to tsurugi crossup in 2k12 against shotos (or 56frame wakeup in general)? (not in corner)

(corner) EX oroshi -> dash*2 -> jump HP
Its a fake crossup, against:
Ryu, ken, viper, guile, dictator, ibuki, dan, hakan, evil ryu.

Im in japan since about 6 days, and thats heaven. Haha.
I think the WORST matchup for makoto is ibuki (at least “japanese” ibuki).

Otherwise, i do well. Has about 75% winning rate and became master 2 days ago.
Played daigo (lost about 6-3), played nekojita (best japanese abel) and did 50/50. And some other good players with all characters.
Ibuki gave me the most troubles. I cant win against a good one :frowning:

Hey, I wanted to know if the arcade and xbox are different in timing? There seems to be a difference between xbox and pc and i was wondering which one was closer to the arcade

I would guess the PC version since it’s ported from the arcade version. Arcades actually run on windows I believe (but I’m not 100% sure).

Heihachi feels a lot like Makoto for me in the neutral game. If there was no roll in SFxT he would be the brokenest thing ever.

What do you mean, in the neutral game? Similar footsies (IE either defensive or explosive can-opening)? I’ve been considering Heihachi x Lili.

A little bit of both, he is definitely a character of defensive/offensive extremes like our girl Mak. This may be a bit unfocused…:
-His walk speed is slow, which feels very familiar and he has command normals that move him forward like b+lk (crushes standing block) and f+mp (can be linked into confirm combo) that add to his mobility. He struggles to get in, but is terrifying when he is there.
-His pokes are different, but feels very similar to maintain patience and slowly bring them to a dangerous spacing then just tear their life bar apart with a setup.
-His Raijin stance is kind of similar to hayate; can be a safe string ender, moves forward and crumples on counterhit. Cancellable.
-His counter is the best in the game, and can be combo’ed after which makes it feel almost like landing karakusa (except they obviously have to attack)
-His super is full screen and can be used like Abare, goes thorough fireballs and full screen raw tag punish, like Abare for blowing up FA’s
-His b+mp AA is like Mak’s s.mp as an AA (a bit slower) but can be buffered with specials to combo off an AA like fuki juggles
-His up close mixup is really really scary. this is where it feels very Mak-like to me, mixing in his INCREDIBLE b+lp hammer fist (nomination for best move in the game) with safe specials and high/low game is very potent.
-His BnB is like an easy mode fuki juggle combo, just Rising Upper, s.hp xx rising Upper, s.hp Dragon Upper.

I personally find his combos really damn boring, but everything else is a blast.
