lol @ ‘turning the tide of the game without taking a single risk’ at an ex tiger knee. this ain’t cammy’s ex cannon strike, where one bar = huge damage and 50/50’s till your dead, or sakura, where ex hurricane kick = 15 hit combo, 1/3rd of your life with free juggle into ultra, and corner carry into derpy safe corner pressure.

you get a knockdown, pretty small damage, and send em across the screen, where 50% of the cast have tools to get around your zoning.
They block, you can throw or blow up a tech attempt with a 120 damage super risky uppercut.

moving ex knee to 0 on block doesnt do anything. giving a tool to not be optionless vs fei long would be a legitimate buff.

I can’t find the confirmation anywhere. Catalyst on Eventhubs stated in the comment section that players that picked Sagat at the latest US4build station(s) didn’t mention anything about him, and that would be a pretty big omission IMO.

St.LK hitting two hits and being special cancelling is TOO OP IMO, it should only hit once like it did in Vanilla.

Most players that play Sagat yes. Why would I have to ask anyone. The second hit of st.lk cancel would be fine, nobody asked for a double hit cancel.

You think he’s fine as is? Sorry but that’s completely wrong, he can’t even do what he was designed to do - zone.

I’m interested what buffs you think Sagat needs outside of Ultra “fix” (not buff) and a decent normal to protect his dead zone.

Hi guys. This is Leslie from Singapore. Canada cup 2011 runner up.
I have tested Sagat at the location test in Singapore.
St lk is not cancellable at the tip. The range where u can cancel is probably abit further or the same as down mk range.

Ultra 1 gets full animation at corner. Opponent will be at corner after ultra is finish. Ultra 2 gets full hits after juggle state.

Trade uppercut is still there with both ultra. Ultra 1 will miss on certain characters after trade like AE 2012 (cammy, gen and etc) Ex knee is 0 on block. Tiger knee forces stand on first hit.

Will post more updates when I have time to test more. That’s all guys. Cheers.

Cheers leslie! so you’re saying that stand lk is still cancelable from both hits except at max range? Did you still find this buff to be useful? Thanks for the confirmations, keep em coming! If you get more games in, I’d love to know your thoughts on any matchup changes, who’s gotten easier to fight and who’s gotten more difficult.

Can you check which strings ending in s.lk allow the cancel for l.tk? So we can have a a more precise idea of where we can cancel it from.

Hi All,

Will try to test more stuffs when i had to chance to test the game again.

There is no dudley users in singapore. So i cant provide you with that.

Juri should be harder because all i heard was she got all buffs and no nerfs.

Hakan will be always easy for sagat. Since Ex uppercut will always lead to ultra 1. but we’ll see about this version.

According to Xian, Ex tiger knee to ultra 1 is possible in the corner, If ultra 1 is possible, I’m sure ultra 2 will probably be applicable and easier as well. As ex tiger knee recover 1 frame faster, This might be possible, But i’ll provide and update soon when i do test it out.

Cr.mk range. That’s pretty good, probably further than I thought but then saying that cr.mk box is quite small, it’s more like his ankle that hits than the tip of his foot.

Back after with more testing.

Ex tiger knee to ultra 1 works on everyone when you push him to the corner. It will work on all hits of Ex tiger knee be it all 3 hits, 2 hits, or 1 hit. Same with ultra 2. Just that ultra 2 is easier.

Opponent can delay wake-up after ultra 1. So you might want to time meaty tiger shot abit more precise.

Tiger knee 1st hits force stand it will hit opponent like ryu when he is crouching during the first hit and second hit will auto-connect. Last time it used to hit on 1st hit and second hit will whiff.

If tiger knee 1st hit trade can forces stand opponent. You can combo after trade into down lp to uppercut or tiger shot. not sure with other normals (cmp , cmk). Will need to test more on this.

Ultra 1 and ultra 2 damage got slightly nerf during juggle state.

Today is the last day of location test. they might be streaming it later. Do follow us if your interested to watch.

I’m not sure if they will let Sagat keep all these changes. He seems a bit too powerful now especially with the delay wake up helping him against vortex characters.

DWU is the biggest buff to Sagat since he doesn’t give a crap about when the opponent wakes up, and it helps him vs getting repeatedly hit in the face by Ken for example. St.lk cancel is awesome too of course (if it stays that is), but I think he will be very strong in USF4 even without it.

Ex to into full u1 and u2 on all cast is busted. I know it works on Sim and rog in ae2012

it works on the corner vs dictator aswell in ae2012. But i don’t think it’s that busted since you can’t put it off a combo. If you catch a startup of a jump then you can basically ultra 1 afterwards everyone in this version aswell lol

And you can’t fadc backwards ultra 1 anymore. Won’t connect full hits. It will always be first few hits if you backdash. You need to fadc forward dash. But you can backdash for ultra 2.

Sometimes it would whiff on a back dash anyway like against Cammy or Rufus. U2 is sounding better and better, if U1 didn’t do so much damage there would a lot less reason to pick it.

Has anyone tested the U1 in the corner against Ibuki, Sakura or Viper? He used to pass straight through and I’m wondering if they actually fixed that, I’m assuming they have but nobody has mentioned it. They only mentioned that he gets full hits.
