Am I the only one that is worried about d/f lk not being mentioned at all in the change list? Out of everything, this is what I expected to come back the most and it seems like they’re not going to change it back like it was in SUPER. Hopefully, there’s still more changed to come for Chun.
Still, I’m glad to hear headstomps are now d/f mk. Not that it was really needed, but I always thought it was dumb for Seth to have directional stomps and not Chun. That alone didn’t make much sense to me. Now, no more excuses for dropping the stomp juggle
b+mk buff is pretty random to me. Like kalvin said, I really don’t use that move that often so it doesn’t really affect me. It might become useful though, so we never know.
As for the other changes, it all looks pretty cool. U1 glitch fix was expected, Kikoken buff is always handy and her sweep does stun again (Not that it really mattered)! Still hopping for d/f lk buff and U2 damage buff…
EDIT: Wait… is it Kikoken or her U2 (Kikosho) that is being changed no 9 frames? I read both.
kikosho has been buff´d in start up time, and yes df.lk is a must imo
I am VERY happy that MK target combo is gonna be fixed!
Whoops my bad. Kikosho 9F startup, not Kikoken.
Seriously, if her kikosho and not kikouken is what’s getting buffed I just went from Fuck Yeah! to Fuck this…
not impressed, nothing that we actually care about…srsly the df mk in the air for stomps nice but not needed…the target combo with back fwd kick (MK) is useless no body uses it…take it out and make he neutral standing mk b the animation for back Mk…and they didnt even bring back df+lk goodness…dissappointing. SIGH when is SF x Tekken coming out again.
correction…nothing I really care about not we…I dont wanna speak for the forum i just think her changes are weak, we got our 150 stun back but not df+lk hit box…i dont mind the trade of AE just make it a viable move again.
I’m actually mostly happy with this iteration of Chun. I wasn’t that bothered by the nerfs in AE, and they fixed some key issues that did irk me.
DF+LK - I was used to this move being ass in regular SF4, so I never got used to using it in Super and I don’t miss it in AE. It was easy AA into damage but I don’t think not having it really gimps her play.
The damage reduction on MP not getting fixed is regrettable, but getting extra stun on sweep is cool. She used to be able to use the unique properties on her FA hitbox for some cool footsie tricks, and that’s gone in AE, but having headstomps come out easier is a great buff as she has a lot of nice mixup options off point-blank stomps. I personally don’t go for them as much beecause if I miss Chun is in a world of hurt. I feel that this buff will help to expand her offensive game quite a bit.
And thank god for the fix on U1 juggle. That’s probably what annoyed me most about AE Chun. Everytime I had the glitch happen I was like “Really? Seriously?”
Kikosho startup 9F…meh. This still doesn’t let her use it in non-juggle combos, and I don’t know if that extra frame will make it easier to hit on the characters who juggle poorly off EX Legs.
And reading comments here and there - Chun-Li is an “easy mode” character? Really? What game are they playing?
Like the headstomp change, that should make shenanigans easier. All I really wanted was for them to fix that U1 juggle problem, glad that is being addressed.
Like most, b+mk isn’t something that I use. It’s an interesting change, maybe it’ll be more useful, maybe not. If it’s still -6 on block it will still be too risky to go for most of the time.
i thought stun on crouch hk is 200? right? as per frame data.
???
It was 200 in SSF4, they nerfed it to 100 in AE and are buffing it up to 150 now.
Who cares about any change to u2 that isn’t either making it absurdely fast 3-4f range or buffing the damage.
All of the changes she recieved now, aside from u1 bug fix, were only meant to make Chun easier, not better.
Way to go capcom.
So the changes are pretty pointless for Chun then… Stomps, meh, stun on sweep is nice her target combo, meh and U2 faster start up, what’s the point in that, her U1 has fast start up I thought the point of her U2 was that is was a better combo ultra and not a punish ultra… to me I think she’s pretty much gonna be the same
I lol’d at the headstomp change. Really Capcom? Thats what Chun Li needed? Not an improved EX sbk or an actual, usable HK sbk or the df.lk buff, but a measily input change? Why make Chun Li more scrub friendly? And if you look at the change list… all the other characters getting more scrub friendly. What the hell?
I don’t see any other characters only getting ease-of-use changes, looking at it again, still can’t see anyone receiving such useless “buffs” as Chun has.
I really have no idea what capcom are thinking with Chun, she hasn’t got any significant change made to her since vanilla, we had df+lk in super but that is already gone.
How will 50 extra stun on c.hk change her matchups?
Right now she’s just a watered down version of her former, vanilla, self.
I have to agree for sure. I said F* Kikosho a long time ago, especially as an Anti Air. Its nice that B+MK may be more useful now, but then again it damage scales so bad and tacking on an ultra-- aside from flare and fun isn’t worth it.
So yeah, nothing that changes her match ups. Its cool you can use DF on head stomps but that doesn’t take a 6-4 match up and make it 5-5 ya know?
I think its fine that she’s pretty much unchanged. Unlike a lot of characters she’s not in dire need of some extra tools. Df. lk would have been great, but she has other anti-airs that people need to use better (including myself). If it were hard to pressure her wakeup with a better EX SBK, the match-up against her with would be all kinds of super frustrating cause knocking her down is no easy task.
Happy for J.df Mk
kikosho is already 9F itsnt?
Damn, was so happy to read kikoken is 9F… cr.mk>kiko finally reliable… sad
