You’re the one that’s thickheaded and after reading what you posted I really think you must be embarrassed at your own stupidity because you don’t even have basic reading comprehension. The game was CANCELED - not delayed, not late, not postponed. If you knew anything about Blizzard games, you would know they take time with their games. They don’t say “I say oh, we haven’t made a game in X in X franchise in years, let’s shoot for end of the year.” The fact that you think the joke is funny is from your own lack of knowledge on Blizzard’s objectives. If you’re comparing a Ghost’s cancellation with a “delayed” patch, then you need to get a better sense of humor. Why do I put quotations around delayed? Maybe because it’s called AE “2012.” The fact that anyone is actually complaining about the “delay” is beyond me.
Also, if Ghost was actually still delayed, then I would find the joke slightly funny; even then it wouldn’t even have gotten a chuckle though because as I said before Blizzard takes their time to create extremely high quality games. If they think they’re game is not good enough, they will postpone it for five more years if they have to. The fact that I pointed this out in my original post was to maybe inform the guy that maybe he thinks it’s still going, hence his “joke.”
With your sense of humor, you probably find Hannah Montana hysterical.
His pride was offended, mang. Imagine if someone told you that you had no sense of humor. End of the world, mang! Game over!
Ps: Everyone is free to tell me that my message wasn’t funny.
No fun allow. The joke was me hoping that Capcom would release the patch before a canceled game like SC Ghost comes out. There’s no need to look at it any deeper than that. I don’t even know why the wall of text.
I’m sorry but Capcom’s excuse as of delayed 2012 patch for PC is pure bullshit considering how the whole engine works. They literally can use the same patch (with very minor adjustements) that was released on X360. I’d buy the excuse “PC SSF4:AE was out for few month less so the patch will come a bit later”.
This is what I believe Capcom is doing and what their reasoning for a “delay:”
They want to release the PSN/360 versions of the patch first, that way people see that the most recent versions of SF4 are only on consoles or arcades. This would develop guaranteed income from people who questioned getting AE previously by buying the content on the consoles, and prevent further piracy issues from PC AE with delays to the 2012 patch for PC players. By the time AE2012 rolls out on PC, Capcom would have received enough income from people who didn’t purchase AE at launch on consoles to not worry about the 2012 patch being torrented everywhere.
You can say all you want about a process or delay, but as Omnikaze says, it’s pure BS and just a way to make more income. From a business standpoint it makes complete sense, but as a fan it’s unfortunate. The ridiculousness about this is people have already paid for AE on PC and are not getting the 2012 patch like the consoles have. Can’t wait til 2012 is announced/released on PC myself though.
FYI for those that don’t know. Q1 = January Febuary March. So PC users could potentially have to wait as late as March for the patch. I personally suspect mid Januaryish erring on the side of late January, but now we at least have a confirmation it wont come out before New Years.
Thanks Capcom! Keep showing PC fans you care by putting as few resources as possible towards your PC ports to make sure they are not only timely, but high quality!
I’d be surprised if they released it in January. I’d bet late-February to March, if at all. Usually, when developers are within a month to the release date they would be certain enough of its release to say a month. Seeing how they gave an answer as ambiguous as Q1 2012, I’d say they are still a decent way from release and won’t be making any serious headway soon for a January release. A simultaneous release was expected, a week to a little more than a month delay would’ve been reasonable, but this “Q1 2012” is kind of ridiculous. I’m definitely not going to get SFxT on PC if Capcom is so unwilling to support PC gamers.
True but those are console release dates. Skullgirls wont come to PC until after it has launched on consoles (and even then it hasn’t technically even been announced as coming to PC AFAIK it is only “very likely”)
and SFxT I expect to be on PC well after the console version. They didn’t even start development on the PC port until october when they announced the Gem system. I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if the PC version doesn’t hit until summer 2012.
It’s funny how some people in-and-outside of Capcom trying to promote and bring forward SFIV on PC (giving away free CD-Keys to EVO participants comes to mind as a fresh one; top players asking other players to buy it on PC cos of a better netcode), but then they and all of their efforts get butt-annihilated and punched back to square one by some unbelievers inside of Capcom. I’m so sorry, Sven, i’m sure you’ve tried your best.
I have the game on PS3 and PC. Prefer playing on PC because of the better graphics(true 1080p, anti aliasing, etc) and significantly less lag in general. Bought AE on launch day via Steam. Pretty mad about this delay in getting the patch to me, probably will pirate SFxT on PC and only buy on PS3 since PC support feels like an afterthought
