Adon Video Discussion (Updated: 12-08-10)

im not sure if this has been mentioned before… but cammy can jab adon out of his HK jaguar tooth… i’ve been using it often to stop his mind games (and baiting cannon spike using mk or lk jaguar tooth… so instead i far jab)

I was randomly looking through some of my boy Lupasan’s videos and i came a across Adon doing Jag kick(lk?), c.LK, LK RJ. :12 - :15

can anyone confirm this?

That’s his air jaguar kick.

That was airborne JK Lk>lk>RJ

dem combos was lame. how many times did he do rj fadc rj fadc rj? the only cool combo imo was the 1st one, i didn’t even think of trying 2 focus attacks with adon

I liked the overhead, c.mp to rising jaguar

posting some poorly executed week 1 play, but a disclaimer first:
I’m pretty sure I drop most my combos and correct punishes, this session was my attempt to work on hit confirming his bnb into rising jagaga.
The Ibuki player is also just learning the character and drops a handful of combos.

I’m having a lot of fun with Adon, but I also feel he can compete at some level. His gameplay for me is 100% footsies and poking. Any comments would be great and there will likely be more to come (offline matches of course!)

Speaking of combos…

Against Seth you can do j.mk>EX AJK>cr.lp>cr.lp/mp>lk RJ

it’s overhead to c.lp. c.mp has too much startup frames

Alright. So I just made some videos like…an hour or so ago.

Tell me whatcha think.

Nice, learned a few tricks from your video. I especially like the use of the JK’s for pressure. Definitely going to add it to my game.

I’m gonna record some more once my brother gets back. And i’m hoping to have a little gathering later on today so i’ll get some from there too.

I just had the most epic jaguar vs jaguar battle with dr. chaos. His execution is no fucking joke, he does not drop combos period. Shit came down to the wire! If anyone feels like looking for it, it was actually recorded (was a ranked match) tea boss legend vs. lowtierforlife . When my capture card comes in the mail, I’m gonna upload it because I’m sure it’s the best replay I’ll ever have.

I wouldn’t do JK’s for pressure on people with DP’s, especially the shootos

Yeah, I’m still getting used to what his moves look like his. c.mp is that elbow.

not bad. i noticed you dont use S.MP, or cr.MP why is that they are bot good pokes and S.MP is a good anti air.

Cool vids. I personally like to mix up IAJK with JKs at close/mid range, but canceling c.mids into JK/JT worked well against your opponent. It’s something I definitely have to add to my game.

Unfortunately, I feel like the usefulness of Jaguar Kicks for pressure ends once your opponent is no longer asleep or no longer playing like crap.

I’ve noticed that too. Once they figure out that their character as a normal that can stuff JK, they start spamming it.

This can be used against them as well. Doing roundhouse JK at the right distance can bait them into throwing out that normal only to be countered. We really need some lingo to describe this phenomenon, because it’s a big part of his game. PhenomAdon?

I’m also not afraid to throw JK’s out during a footsie game. In fact, I especially throw them out in the middle of an intense footsie game. Most people will be too ingrained in the footsie game to think to throw out their anti-JK normal (unless it’s the same move), or the threat of a JK will cause them to throw that move out, which can probably be beaten by s.MK or s.MP. One exception is Bison’s s.HK, which is a good poke AND beats JK. I’ve been meaning to try s.HP to see if I can stop the roundhouse spam and get them to make a mistake.

Very few footsies beat a well-spaced Jaguar Kick. Jaguar Kick WILL beat any normal move at the right distance, with the right timing. The problem is getting to the right place at the right time.
