Im not an expert on Adon at all but Adon-Guile is in Adon’s favour, pretty sure m.jaguar kick/IAJK destroys Guile’s zoning game, plus ambiguous setups after backthrow/sweep etc. are hard for Guile to deal with. Also there’s really no reason to use jaguar tooth in this matchup except for maybe EX as jaguar kick does everything better. I’m sure someone else with more knowledge can shed more light on this matchup though.

Just stay at mid range vs Guile and react to sonic boom with IAJK. You won’t punish but you’ll be able to get in for free.
Once you have them not throwing out booms just bait them to flash kick when they try to react to Jaguar kicks.
Also when Guile is knocked down it’s pretty much gg

Iajk. Mk jaguar kick. Ex jaguar kick. Walk And block. In about 5 seconds and he’s in the corner.
Thanks for the advice guys. I’ve already started to put it to good use but like anything it will take time before it becomes my normal way of dealing with things.
Hell, I’m still working on getting the timing of FADC right and when and how best to use it to my advantage.
The more I play the more I feel like I need an arcade stick. Just seems like it would be more precise.

How do i beat dan?
He is pressuring me from close with frame traps and i cant do nothing.
I had the same problem with a Ken player recently. Shouting at the top of my lungs did nothing but I did feel better.
Hm. No love for Jaguar Tooth in here, eh? I’d label myself as an “intermediate” with Adon, and I have a lot of success with using LK Jaguar Tooth to bait someone into trying to DP at full or mid-screen. I also find that the EX version is just fast enough to catch people off guard when they’re used to seeing the standard version.
One thing that I have really been trying to avoid abusing, however, is Rising Jaguar. I find myself instinctively doing it after a cross-up MK followed by crouching LK into LK Rising Jaguar. If the LK connects, then I get a free knockdown. If it gets blocked and I still throw out the Rising Jaguar like an idiot, I get punished hard. I’m slowly breaking myself of the habit, but it’s not easy.

The thing with jaguar tooth is that the only time you will bait someone into doing an ultra or DP is when they don’t know that neutral jumps, lp/lk DPs and normals punish it.
Why not do cr lk cr lk hit confirm?
Oh, you can link two crouching lk’s together? Is the timing strict? It never feels like I can link it, but I guess I haven’t really been actively trying. That would help immensely.
Beginn with cr.lk > cr.lp x lk RJ …
cr.lk is +5 on hit and cr.lp has 3 frame start up … if you have the timing down you can try to use cr.lk > cr.lk x special … it is 1 framer harder but the cr.lk has 40 damage and the timing isnt that hard if you are used to.
All of Adons combos has a bit strange timings … it is really different to other chars like the shotos.
Especially his close.mk/mp/hp > cr.lp/lk combos … !!!
Adon has different combo rythms and if you want to master him you have to look for his animations and get the rythm in your muscles … the good thing is that some of his close mediums have such nice frame data that you can hit confirm them and still hit your cr.lp x special.

I’ve been playing pad since I first started playin FGs, stick offers much cleaner inputs and a more precise controls and slightly better to much better execution, depending on your char.
I still pull off evil ryu’s 1 frame links on pad but true execution is consecutive hard to time/precise commands that a stick can do much better than a pad.
Thank you all once again. After this thread and a few GamerBee vids my ability with Adon has definitely leveled up.
Even when I lose to stronger fighters now it’s not completely one sided and I put up a good fight.
You are welcome … Adon seems to be a fighter that is easy to use/abuse … but if you face someone that knows the MU you really have to play smart!
IAJK can be a big fat roadblock for new players … I dropped Adon for a couple of month because I was not able to get in consitentyl but than there was one P-Mode session I lucky hit the right rythm and the beautyful world of IAJK was there and the real Adon gameplay as well.
Adon is a wonderful character to practice all fundamentals of this game … he basically has everything to be a complete fighter (beside his OH) and you are able to play good footsie/rush-down/defensive … he may be the well balanced fighter in SSF4 and imho is a hell of a fun to play … you dont have to learn tons of technique and set ups and so on … if you have your BnBs, IAJK and FADCs down … you are more or less ready … after that there is only fun to explore the little dirty tricks … XD
Tipp:
Use and learn his kara-back-throw … it is really underestimated and gives Adon this little bit of more range to make his throw game a nightmare !!!
Yes, his long-range back throw is one of his best tools for sure. Every Adon player should be using it extensively.
GamerBee match up list :
I don’t really agree with Cody , Ibuki , Rufus , Hawk and Viper , and you what do you think about this ?
Yeah … Cody is a strange MU … I think his zonk is just too good against the JKs and his Stone is also hard to IAJK so I would say Cody is a 5/5 MU. He got problems with wake up pressure and he has bad hurtboxes so you can almost always combo into MK RJ and get your safe jump into fuzzy guard … I think it is even … if not a bit in Codys favor … I play sometimes against TR Sheva (best Cody in EU) … it is always a hard match … but on the other side he is also a better player than me.
Ibuki is a hard MU but I dont know if it is as bad as against Cammy or Akuma.
Rufus is also strange … I would say it is slightly in Adons favor … Rufus hurtbox simple allow so much cheap shit that once you knock him down he is at your mercy … and also hard JK, st.mk and st.lp are great against Rufus pressure.
Hawk … haha … imho I think that all grapplers are not an easy MU … but often it is just the problem that you need to play it basically totally different than any other MU … pure footsie and solid AA can do the job pretty good
Viper … hmmm … A friend plays Viper … he is always complaining how broken JKs are against Viper … and I agree for a small amount … because it basically shuts down her seismo game … and I dont see what tools she got that will get her out of trouble if you OS her wake up. Well … she is still a bitch … and can also steam roll over Adon … but he got a very solid auto-correct … so … 5/5 in my small world … never played against a really scary Viper … Will2Pac is the only solid Viper I know from tournaments … but I never played against him. I think the US Vipers are better.
But overall I think Gamerbees list is pretty much on point.
got a few questions for you guys here. How do you guys go about getting in on dhalsim, vega and e.honda, and how do you guys deal with vegas fake block strings. I find it hard to get in on dhalsim because of his pokes and a well spaced headbutt catches me off gaurd or is to spaced for me to punish. |And vega’s strings gives me a hard to to reversal or even poke through it. I know blocking would be the best choice but how else am i suppose to get in?
Well … first things first:
Dhalsim: This MU feels a bit weird but it is totally in Adons favor … there are a few tricks here. First cr.hp is godlike in this MU … just throw it out here and there when you think the will stretch out his limps it will score a lot of CHs and will deal great damage. Adon is able to change his jump arc with AJK and you can basically jump in from a safe distance where Dhalsim can normally not AA you … so you put him under pressure because he always has to guess if you do empty which is safe or you go for the AJK to get close. If you are close … and do your strings into JK or just being in footsie range use neutral jump and a late HK to catch his slide … he will use the slide to go under your JKs but your nj HK will catch it. In general use more cr.hp instead of roundhouse and use regular JK and IAJK pressure … test if the Dhalsim can react to your JT … if not abuse this shit … if you get the KD start rolling over Dhalsim … both Ultras are usefull in this MU … and Jump HP hitbox will often trade with Dhalsims AA buttons. If you get a safe jump and he teleports go for another jump in … it is very hard to AA !!!
Vega: Just dont try to play too much footsie with Vega … abuse JKs and JT to get close … JR in his strings is risky because of the distance. There is not much Vega can do against JKs and IAJKs … if you get the KD Vega is @ your mercy … use OS cr.hp/cr.hk/light RJ to stop him from back dashing. Vega can be hit with the fuzzy guard set up (with light AJK !!!) into a full combo … Vega has a small model you will almost alwys hit him cross up … you can use your b.throw > step back > jump in set up use with jump in HK to create a real 50/50 … just mix it with jump MK. Every
Safe Jump KD (forward throw, combo in mk JR, back throw) will give you a real 50/50 fuzzy guard set up which will lead into another safe jump. Vega is the prey and you are the predator … well … if the Vega dont know the MU … haha
Honda: This MU sucks … Headbutt is totaly anoying … and honda can turtle very good against Adon … the only thing which is very important is that you learn to abuse our RJ option select on his wake up … EX RJ beats all his Wake up options and you can start your wake up pressure game again … everything else is --> play smart … OR … Counter pick with Sagat !!!
Hope this helps … cheers
Trying to step up my game in preparation for my first-ever tournament appearance this year at CEO 2014, and I had a quick question.
I’ve seen Gamerbee cancel an early neutral jump Roundhouse into an Air Jaguar Kick on block, and for the life of me I can’t figure out how to do this. I’ve tried every timing I can think of, but the JK won’t come out. I’d really like to implement this into my tech, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

He’s using neutral jumping forward not Roundhouse
