Fuck the haters. He brought a unique charm to Mario despite it being a genuinely horrible movie.
R.I.P. Bob
The Super Mario Brothers movie!
Hahahaha, I mentioned it!
>:)
(I honestly even forgot he was in the Super Luigi Bros. movie. Then again, like most people, Iāve kinda blocked out that movieās existence from my head for the most part.)
Wellā¦this sucks. [/understatement]
Iād been thinking about Who Framed Roger Rabbit? rather recently too, though for some reason his name didnāt immediately bring that or anything else to mind. I wasnāt aware that he had Parkinsonās (considering I donāt follow any celebrity). Thatās unfortunate.
It makes me wonder how Michael J. Foxās health is doing even though heās a younger guyā¦
Regardless, may Hoskins rest in peace.
I saw the news today about his passing today, too.
What struck me was, "Who the hell dies today of pneumonia?"
Itās bad enough that he was my Dadās age ā also 71 this year and a BIG reminder of mortality, too ā but dying of pneumoniaā¦?
Then I got patiently reminded in print that Hoskins had been sick for the past couple of years but plenty of people live with Parkinsonās Michael J. Fox being another famous example.
I dunno⦠this death just seemed to come so unexpectedly and so shockingly.
I didnāt remember SMB and frankly donāt care about the idiocy expressed over one bad film. Hoskins was the BEST PART of āWho Framed Roger Rabbitā and a great comic foil to Dustin Hoffman in āHook.ā Those are the roles Iāll remember him for on top of him being a seemingly good fellow in real life.

Itās not just nostalgia, this is a legit good movie. I love williams but he was the worst part of the film despite being the star. Iād have watched a whole film of nothing but Smee and Hook.
Best scene in the whole film:
WRONG YOU MOTHERFUCKER!
There was only ONE Mario, and heās been dead for a while nowā¦

Lou Albano ⦠thereās a name you donāt hear anymoreā¦
Holy shit! I didnāt know that was Captain Lou!
Anyways, R.I.P. Bob
What makes the role he did in roger rabbit all the more memorable was how well he interacted with cartoon characters⦠And on top of that the ability to have BOTH Disney and WB characters in the same movie⦠Doubt such a movie will ever be made again⦠Just wish they had Roger Rabbit be more out there in the parks. Onlu pops out during easterā¦
Well that is sucky news. RIP Bob.
Looks like it is tme for me to show my 3 year old the greatness which is Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
To be fair, Hoskins died to pneumonia, which is fairly common for the elderly. Not sure exactly how he got pneumonia though.
Itās okay, Bob, we understand. In a related story, there was an interview or story about Dennis Hopper talking to his son. Hopperās son asked why Hopper was in such a horrible movie like Super Mario Bros., and Hopper replied to his son that he did it to put shoes on the boyās feet.
RIP
Anybody that says Super Mario Bros was the worst film he had any part in never seen Son of the Mask. Iād watch SMB a 100 times before that piece of shit.

Funny thing is his son said he didnāt need shoes THAT badly.
(Hey, Iām not trying to āhexā Mr. Fox or anything, not that I could even if for some reason wanted to.)
Iām just curious now. I vaguely remember hearing that he was he better health than he had been for a while just a couple of years ago, but considering heās basically the (celebrity) face of Parkinsonāsā¦yeah.
Oh, Iām aware that he died of pneumonia, given thatās been clearly stated in all the reports about this unfortunate (if inevitable) event. I was merely stating that I was unaware that he had Parkinsonās at all.
For the record, I was also unaware that he was British, but I didnāt want to put that in the same sentence since I said āthatās unfortunateā at the end of it and I didnāt want to seem like it was his being stealth-British that was unfortunate.
