I want a refund too. I showed up Saturday, late registration. I paid I think $36 for on site registration and for 3rd Strike.
I would also like a refund on the time I spent here which I could’ve spend somewhere else or working at my job which I took a day off for and if you calculate minimum wage which is about what $8 an hour and me spending about 10 hours here, then another $80 on top of that.
And I would also like to add the cost of gas that I paid going to and from there. I live about an hour away from Hawthorn and I drive a BMW which eats up gas like nothing, but I will just take $10 for gas.
So estimated total that Activegamers owes me and all my fellow players that entered side tournies and sat there and did nothing for about 10 hours, wasting their whole day is about $150 each.
PM me for paypal or my address whoever the fuck works here at activegamers.
Maybe You shouldn’t own a BMW and cry about money??? But on a serious Note I think the street fighter community is ass. all you guys do is bitch and complain about every little thing. DO YOU THINK THEY WANTED TO HAVE A FAILED TOURNAMENT?? do you think they said hey lets go and waste our time and other peoples time because that would be so fun?? You guys are a bunch of Trolls (and some players) just talking shit online.
They are trying their best and Failing it’s not easy to run a tournament, West Coast warzone Had just as many problems, in Fact every tournament I’ve ever been too with more then 50 people has had Problems Maybe the common people don’t realize how hard it is to run a tournament.
If you think all your stupid bullshit posts are helping they’re not, If you want to criticize give constructive criticism I know most of you people are too stupid to know what that is but you can google the term.
The only reason EVO ran SEMI well and I say semi because in my pool alone we ran an hour late (which is hella early for tournaments) and because on the day of semis I had to play a guy that they DQ’ed the day before. anyways the reason it ran well because they had no ON SITE registration.
I realize how much extra money on site registration makes for the tournament planners and also money that goes to the prize pool. But for the large tournament (sf4) it is completely destroying it, warzone was set back 5 hours because of on site reg was ridiculous.
All I’m trying to say is anyone who just comes on here with a stupid post that says “FUCK ACTIVGAMERS” with a bunch of nonsense before or after is not helping anyone and makes him or herself look like a complete tool. The bottom Line is they tried they, they failed, Hopefully they will try again and be much more successful.
"shoo: fuck activegamers, (leave the tournament planning to those who know shit)

Must have been tough to run. with all the late entries and venue fees etc etc. good job though!"
^ i think that what makes some bigger tournaments tough i.e. this tourney, and wcw is they had BOTH online reg and in person reg. that fucks things up a bit. just like how it kinda messed up wcw. it seemed like a lot of people registered in person for wcw. so they had to re do brackets or somethin (i think)
Shoo usually runs the AI ranbats, which are easily 50+ people with a single SF4 setup. During the last ranbat, they had more than 1 SF4 setup there (I think it was 3 but I wasn’t there to confirm) but running a decent sized tournament is no easy task, even with additional setups.
Even 50 is not that hard, cody (sdtekken) ran 64 out of his back yard, I'm not saying it's easy but its not the same task as renting out a place trying to run Multiple tourneys with online reg on site reg and all types of other issues and obstacles. I'm not saying shoo can't run a tournament But he and many others make it like they run big ass tourneys all the time and they are all successful when in reality they have never ran one.
50-64 man brackets on one sf4 cab **is **hard. so don’t belittle the efforts of someone whos been consistent on running sf4 tournaments since 2008.
and its not just shoo, just to let you know. there’s a team of people behind him that make it all work together. actual day of the tournament was simply disorganized. the bracket computer was bottlenecked and so was the using the live stream tv. i have a list of nitpicks that would be irrelavent to list, but bottom line is that AG fucked up, and they should be taking their lumps for it.
id welcome them for another tourney, they can definately learn from their mistakes. skimming from the prize pot though, thats a different story…
:clapdos:
Well said this tournament had the worst organization I’ve ever seen. The Blazblue tourney would have went to shit if Mike Z hadn’t stepped up and organized the brackets last minute. This tourney was just one big f up by Active Gamers, which no one else at the tourney seemed to have heard before this event. I will say Aksys Games (who’ve used those cosplayers before at Anime Expo), the DJ and The Maid Cafe did a decent job. UFrag screwed up a little but given how messed up Active Games was, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully the next tournament in So-Cal wont turn out as bad as this one.
Maybe you should take a joke you dumb fuck, I wasn’t even there. But you are a waste of time so I won’t even respond beyond this. I only respond to people who win tournies.
