I tried something once with my white Sanwas and a black sharpie. It wore down after a few hours and the sanwas weren’t a shiny pure white anymore. It operated fine though; no stick on the press down or return up. Some people suggested to put a clear coat on it to seal the sharpie under, but I never got around to it since I eventually got a new stick.

Thanks. Yeah was thinking clear coat as well, but again was scared about the sliding action as you push down on the button. Looks like I’m gonna hit the home depot, get some spray paint and give it a shot on some spare buttons laying around and see how it goes.

No, it should work upon plugging in. Might be a unique driver issue, do you have a ps4 to test it on?

So yeah, it was something bridged. But now in a rather awesome turn of events, I dropped the thing and it snagged and ripped out an entire trace, would I fix this by bridging these two areas?

I would guess so, though you could also use conductive pen to fix it. For what it’s worth, I soldered to the opposite side, which gave larger contacts to work with.

Have you updated to the latest firmware? I did it yesterday, and the ps360+ is working fine on the PS4 (of course with the 8. min time out). You have to force it into ps4 mode, tho, by pressing 1p + 1k when you plug it in/boot up the system.

Nevermind my last question, tho. Soft reset is 3k + select, then home.

Ohhhhhh, not a ps360+, a p360, happ / wico perfect 360 joystick. Do those optical sticks run on ps4? Wanna dual mod my stick with a p360.
Sorry for the confusion!!

So I’m having trouble fixing this trace even though I think what I’ve done should have worked by now. I did it with an actual length of 30 gauge wire and also with a conductive pen but still no dice. If it’s an actual trace related problem should the button be constantly pressed, or never pressed? Currently it’s constantly active.

So it’s likely grounding somewhere. I’d ask @Gummo, he’s the expert.

So I just had my first ever TT eureka moment while taking a shower and thinking about this. And boy do I feel stupid. Turns out that while I did tear up that trace, I successfully fixed it…but I forgot about the second set of R1 and R2, and the R1 bridged with the GND next to it when I desoldered it lol.

Any tips for removing HBFS buttons from a control panel? I think my main problem is that I’m not putting my full force into the tabs to snap them out because I don’t want them breaking. Is it okay for me to push the tabs as hard as possible?

Compared to Sanwa/Seimitsu those Gamerfinger buttons are tough and strong plastic in my experience

So these HBFS tabs are breaking my fingers more than I’m breaking them lol. Is there some sort of technique to getting them out?

Brute force is the only way I’ve found. Get the tabs in a little, and esdentially hammer the button out. It should force the tabs inwards as it moves.

So, I’m building a ccustom stick for the first time and thanks to you guys and Slagcoin, things are going great. However, I did run into another problem. The joystick screws that came with my case are philips head and have a slight bump to them. The case also has a plexi top to make the whole top flush. The screws for the joystick go under the plexi. Because of those bumps, it pops up the plexi around the joystick and around the button holes. How can I fix this?

That’s kind of annoying that those are the ones that came with the case. You might want to go to the hardware store and buy some of these:

Ok. Would you recommend bringing the ones I have now to the hardware store, so I can try to find a flat headed match, more or less?

Yes, definitely bring one that you have now so that they can get you the matching diameter.

I just got hold of a HSS-0136 Saturn stick. What would be my options to use this on the PC?

  1. Buy an adapter to USB
  2. Swap in the zero-delay Encoder
  3. solder USB Cable?

If Soldering USB is an option I don’t mind to try it (assuming it can be done)

Very novice here but don’t mind getting my hand dirty to learn something

Hi everyone.
I just ordered a venom arcade stick. Its been over 15 years since I played with one so I’m very hyped.

I read alot about sanwa buttons to replace the standard ones.

To be honest, I’m quite a bargain hunter so I was wondering if anyone could help with some adresses to get these from and what are actually good prices?

I’ve seen them go from about 5$ (4€) a piece to sets of 10 for 10$ on aliexpress… So I’m totally clueless.
Thx for your time
