I’m looking at building two sanwa sticks. However, Amazon seems super expensive. Where is the cheapest place to buy sanwa parts, and if it’s focus attack, how long does it usually take them to restock? They are completely out of the colors and joysticks I want.
AliExpress and Ebay.
Just make sure you’re ordering genuine parts. Avoid listings with words such as ‘replacement’, ‘similar’, and ‘like’. Message the seller in advance to confirm it’s the genuine article, then any problems you’ll have a record to show the dispute officers.
@gahrling ok sounds good. I found a nice, lot of buttons on aliexpress that included two “xbox 360” encoders, but upon reading the description, it said clonage sanwa buttons and 360 for pc.
EDIT: Bummer, still looking at about $4 a button. Assuming shipping increases with every button bought. If not, than paying $5 for shipping and getting my 16 obsf 30s and 6 obsf 24s may end up working nicely. If you have any specific lot I should look at, I will definitely check it out.
EDIT 2: Holy Crap Batman! These prices don’t seem any better than focusattack tbh. I will probably order from them if they can put the JLF and Red and Light Blue OBSF 30s back in stock.
Careful with the Chinese made PCBs with the term "Xbox " on it. Many boards like the Zero Delay or ZD boards are that say Detect as Xbox on Windows are actually just PS3 boards with possible Xinput on PC, or worst they just say Xbox under Devices and Printers on your PC and no Xinput capability.
Are the colored HRAPs a limited edition or is Hori going to keep making more?
Hi, I have generic arcade buttons from AliExpress and was looking to buy some kind of grease to make sure the buttons don’t stick. As I understand, I want to avoid anything with petroleum in it since it can degrade plastic.
I have some white grease that came with a treadmill a while back, but can’t seem to find any information as to what kind of grease it is. It’s labeled as “General White Grease - Part # 340221”. Here’s a picture of it: https://i.imgur.com/g1UxStF.jpg
Is there anything I can do to try to figure out what this grease is or if it’s safe to use on plastics? If I heard right, petroleum grease has some kind of distinct strong smell to it, but this grease doesn’t seem to have any smell at all.
The go to greases for pivots in levers are shin etsu or molykote. You do not need to grease the buttons, if they’re sticking they’re just very poorly made.

A few weeks ago I was having trouble getting my brook’s UFB to read inputs in my computer. I eventually did get it to connect as an Xbox360 controller and that fixed the problem. I just reconnected it again and now the PCB isn’t recognized at all by my computer, as any sort of controller. I tried forcing it to do X360 mode and got the same result. I can post a picture of the wiring again if needed.
Have you tried a different USB cable?
@Darksakul they were indeed zero delay. If some of them are ps3, those might be just what I need. Was worried about making a stick compatible with ps3/4 because those are tournament standard consoles. As I usually use pc, it is not really an issue to not have 360, but I still think it would be nice.
I was not talking about the latency of the board, its called a Zero Delay as it’s brand name.
I talking more about people confused with the ZD boards and Xbox 360 compatibility, the boards don’t support play on the Xbox 360.

Tried it again using the same cable. It worked again. Guess it’s just going to be a fickle beast.
@Darksakul I also realize that as well. The name Zero Delay is a joke in of itself because it’s just another marketing ploy for unsuspecting beginners trying to save a buck or two on their first stick. I’m thinking of just getting two of the pdp marvel pads(as I already have modding experience with them and I won’t have to get used to a whole new input lag.) In terms of price for buttons and joysticks, I feel like aliexpress is like the one place to avoid. EBay didn’t look to great either. I am probably going to end up following focus attack to see when the buttons come in.
I fucking love AliExpress.
I can understand why the less experienced would avoid it because there’s a lot of fakes on there, but when you know what to look for and you start chatting with the shop owners then it’s a winning situation.

The board is really only good if you are using it with a PS3 (and lack of a PS button will suck), a PC (and a lack of a Home button is negligible), or if you intend to build a MAME/FBA cabinet.
An emu cab is really the only place this thing belongs IMO.

I have a 360 TE-S stick that I want to use on PC/PS3/360 and MAYBE PS4 if that is an option. What are currently available options to achieve this besides Brook adapters/boards, PS360+, or doing a pad hack?
Hello !
Someone asked me recenlty to build them a Project Diva controller, for ps3/PS4. I thought about using the brook pcb, but I have a few problems with it.
-
SODC. I don’t know if the game requires you to press left/right at the same time, but if it does, wouldn’t the brook register that as neutral ? (but the game probably doesn’t require that kind of input, since it wouldn’t be possible to play on pad if that were the case…)
-
The game requires you to “flick” the analog stick sometime(the direction doesn’t matter)
If i solder a button to the ADC_LY, and ADC_RY point on the pcb, will that give me an L/R analog input ? Can these be used in conjonction with the dpad?
Thanks for the anwser if anyone know about theses specific question…
Brook board isn’t intended for a Project Diva controller, you need to look into pad hacking a actual PS4 pad.
Just get a Brook board or adapter.
I also see the ZD boards as a trap/ploy for unsuspecting beginners. In the long run you end up ripping the board out for something better and end up spending more.
Skip on the PDP marvel pads, they are a bitch to mod in the long run.
If you want a reliable cheap PS3 pad, the more basic of the two Brook PCBs are actually pretty good, It’s just a PS3/PS4 PCB, no extras.
