if you just got it just contact madcatz and get a replacement. if you can’t then have one of the modders take a look at it for you.
Godlike, thank you!
I found a local store that has the Innovation Dreamcast converter for $12, so I’m just going to pick that up and hope it works with the default PCB. I need to change those buttons though with the quickness.
Thanks a bunch bruv.
I’m seeing a lot of conflicting information. Is the Brook Xbox360 to PS4 converter compatible with the OG Madcatz TE Round 1?
If it’s dirt you can try blowing it out with some compressed air or using a bit of rubbing alcohol on the button. Really what you want to do it open it up and check behind the button, but that might void your warranty.
If you want to check the pcb for something loose, you can easily access that with a small phillips screwdriver, i just wouldn’t go any further than making sure everything is plugged in and tight if you’re not comfortable with ripping it apart.

Hey all,
This isn’t really related to any of the above questions but thought I’d ask here before starting another thread.
Serious questions regarding input lag:
1 - Is there a noticeable difference between 35ms and 10ms?
2 - Should I consider getting a BenQ 10ms screen now so that I’m “ready” and playing at “tournament standards”?
3 - If I’m using the 35ms at home and suddenly need to play on a 10ms screen, am I likely to drop combos/have execution issues due to the difference in input lag?
Thanks in advance!
@jaykuma It depends on what you’re playing. I play melee on a 35 ms lag tv. When I switch to a crt, I have the hardest time controlling my character. Unless the game you play has frame perfect windows, it won’t be too big of a deal.
For what it’s worth…
SHMUPS, I can only play on PC or a CRT via an old school console.
I can’t play Strikers 1945 well on my X360 on my Samsung, but can do just fine with DodonPachi on my PC or Ikaruga on my Dreamcast / CRT
For fighters, I can go between the two and not notice much difference. I play Guilty Gear, Super Turbo, Tekken, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and almost all the Capcom CPS2 games.

@EndRant @toddler316 Thanks for the suggestions. I tried on PS4 and as expected, same problem. I am just worried about warranty/repair because 1)MCZ is going bankrupt 2)I live in Hong Kong, which the support doesn’t cover atm (although the Twitter account told me they would redirect to the adequate service).
I tried opening it but without heavy dismantling, it is hard to access the incriminated PCB. I’ll try using compressed air when I get the chance to. Let’s hope MCZ answers me soon ! Thanks again !
I have a Hori VX SA Kai stick and I want to change the joystick into a seimitsu or hayabusa.
Do I have to solder to do this? What do I need to get besides the new joystick?
Thanks
No, just be site to get a pcb (-01) variant if you go with seimitsu. Also, the 5 pin harness will need to be flipped upside down on a seimitsu lever.

Does the Art Hobbies’ TE2 plexi fit on top of the TE2+?
Whats the difference between an adapter, converter, and upscaler? I’m looking to hook up some old consoles and need something to plug em into hdmi but I don’t know what the difference is.
RE:Hi, I recently got a pre owned fighting stick, I plug in my PC and i started playing KOF 2002 and KOF13 but i intermediately noted that i could not do uppercut move in the left side, the right side work smooth. So i decided to order a new Joystick PBC Assembly. After replaced and i made sure all connector were int the right position i plug it back in but problem was still there. So then i decided to play SSF4 and it work it! tried back with KOF steam version and no luck. DOes anyone knows what causing the problem, is it a driver problem or is my PC or the fighting stick. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Adapter and converter may not do upscaling. By and large, they’re the same thing. They take one kind of video signal and put out another kind. Adapter usually also can refer to something that can take compatible signals and use them on something with a different socket. Like HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort are all compatible for a lot of common cases(high resolution, high frame rate, high color gamut, etc may not be supported by DVI or HDMI or older versions of DisplayPort).
Upscalers take sub-HD signals and turn them into HD signals. Usually to HDMI, sometimes to VGA.
Most TVs have upscaling hardware, but it’s often slow, or not tuned for gaming, so it may introduce problems. Usually input lag or the soap opera effect(it’s when pans across a scene are over filtered and smoothed; it looks really weird when you notice it). This is fine in some cases for some TV shows and movies, completely terrible for other shows and movies, and universally awful for gaming.
Dedicated upscalers usually are very fast and do very little, if absolutely no post-processing to the image. Which, ironically for gaming, gives you a better picture.
How exactly do PS4 firnware updates work in terms of blocking unlicensed stuff? Does it just give unlicensed stuff the 8 minute timeout? Do they not work at all until fixed? Does the PS360+ still work?

What kind of stick? What does it look like when you go into the joystick testing mode in control panel? What mode is the stick in?

It does since TE2 and TE2+ have same plexi. But from what I’ve seen, the Art Hobbies’ plexi is not as good as the latest official MCZ one (new TE2, TE2+ and Chun-li TE2).

Is there a button layout thread around here? I printed up a hitbox and 8 button noir template and they both were off.
Thanks
