Thanks.

The new Paradise Arcade Shorty lever will be the smallest under the top panel. Should be available very soon.

Edit: wrong thread

Thank you guys for the responses. To follow up on it, I forgot to ask if you guys know of any ball tops (or even bat tops) smaller than the standard size?

Not really but if you find a small ball that you think might work as a top, you can drill a hole approximately 11mm in diameter and glue in a 10mm to 6mm adapter. This will fit your standard Jap shaft. The adapters are like $1 US from your favorite arcade parts supplier.

Actually there are Ball tops that are 5mm smaller (outer diameter) than the average ball top.

Standard Ball top is 35mm,

Seimitsu makes some 30 mm tops
and Paradise Arcade has some generic Ball tops at 30mm.

Also if you are willing to hunt them down some older sticks in the past has smaller ball tops.
Examples I can recall are the Innovation Dreamcast stick has a smaller orange ball top, the NES Advantage stick has a 25 mm black ball top.
I am not sure about the Ball top size of the old NEO GEO AES arcade sticks, most are cracking due to age.

Also Mini Bat Tops is a thing, 16 mm

Thanks a bunch for the links, @Darksakul‌, and thanks for the idea which I totally should’ve thought of, @iNENDOi‌ . Only trouble I’d run into is finding a way to colour it (i.e. painting it) without it coming off or show signs of wear over the course of rubbing and heat from my fingers.

If you want a paint job to last, you have to sand, primer, paint (several coats) then clear coat to seal it all in.

Krylon thread has plenty of step by step info for making a lasting paint job.

i have a dual mod fightstick pro for ps3, i got a problem , when i switch from PS3 to 360 the turbo panel on the stick lights up and starts setting the buttons to turbo randomly.

First question would be how is it dual modded? Padhack, PS360, etc.

Fightstick pro ps3 + Madcatz SF Fightpad xbox 360 + Imp v2.

How is button sensitivity measured for Sanwa and Seimitsu buttons? Also, how sensitive are the Seimitsu PS-14-G buttons, in comparison to the Seimitsu PS-15?

the same thing happened to me a few months ago when i was dual-modding a ps3 fightstick pro. there is something funky about that pcb, i think it may not be common ground.

By how much weight or force it takes to push a button down.

Seimitsu PS-14-G buttons are stiffer than PS-15s

Oh I know all that. My black joystick’s done with paint. My hands have rubbed portions of the surface smoother than the untouched parts and it just doesn’t look pretty. I wanted to know if someone has figured out a way to slow down the wearing process even more than clear coats.

Then you didn’t do it right, PERIOD.

  1. Sand the ball top down. Break up that gloss surface so the primer can bound with the paint.
  2. Primer. Primer is what allows the paint to bite into the plastic
  3. Paint, multiple coats. You want at least 3 good coats of paint. If you are doing some design or art, put down several layers of your base or background color before painting your design.
  4. Clear Coat. Keep in mind not all clear coats are the same. You also want several layers of this stuffs.

Some people will go as far as sand (with some very high girt sandpaper) in between layers of paint/ clear coat to get the smoothest results.

Clear Coat by it self will not do the job. The clear coat is to seal the finished work. You have to provide that foundation.
Also the wrong paints will just flake/peel off.

The fact you told me unfinished areas are “smother” than finish areas showed me you didn’t properly prep your work for paint.
With some fine grit sandpaper you need to sand the whole ball top down, until you break up all the original polished surface of the ball top.

I’d double check all the wiring on the Imp.I haven’t used an Imp, so unfortunately I’m unable to be of much help here. Maybe someone else reading this will be able to assist.

Is it just activating the lights for turbo or is turbo actually being activated for the game? There’s a difference. The former is a common & harmless bug when dual modding a MadCatz PS3 pcb, the latter is a problem with how it was wired or a fault with one of the pcbs.

I doubt it’s IMPv2 related, but make sure you are precisely following the instructions for ‘basic setup’ installation.

when the turbo is activated the button stops working correctly. it’s like when something is wrong with the wires… the button works randomly…but it happens only when the turbo function activates itself. i’ve checked both pcb’s and everything seems to be right. i’ve looking for information and there’s people who have had the same issue, but without solution…
