The Size? m6 metric.

Are there places to order it or is the best bet to get something close just a hardware store?

Well its not a nut, its a threaded bushing. Closest thing I know off is the Sanwa Bat top adapter, its made to allow threading of Sanwa Bat tops to the JLF and Seimtsu joysticks

Did your’s fall out or something? If so you may be able to use an M6 Heli-coil kit to replace the threads but if it’s a standard no frills balltop it will probably be easier to just replace the whole thing.

hey guys, i bought my first stick and it came in today, it worked great but i noticed that the fightstick started to make some squeaky sounds whenever i tried moving it down. every other direction doesnt make sounds except the down direction. what to do?

Edit: i bought the Qanba Real Arcade FightingStick Q4 (3in1)

The squeaking won’t hurt anything. It may go away on its own, or you may need to spray contact cleaner inside the offending micro switch- or you can ignore it.

It should also be mentioned that playing fighting games with the stick set to LS will work but generally make the controls feel slugish/laggy.

Like iNENDOi said, it depends on what you want to do.
You can order a wide variety from McMaster-Carr, but what type you want depends on what material you’re putting it into and how (molding around it or screwing it in?). So if you’re making your own ball-top or something like that, I’d go there.
But if you’re trying to repair a ball top it’s going to cost about the same and be much easier to just get a new one.

That’s what I meant :] And by jumpy I meant accidentally jumping in fighting games, not jumping the gate.

Anyway screw it, I’m going to get a ls-40 when focusattack opens. This is probably something I need to try for myself anyways.

Ya, man. Try it out for yourself. You can get good data by asking around but you also get reviews that are at least a little bit based on personal preference.

So I got around to putting a artwork/plexi on top of a TE-S panel without stripping the artwork on the metal panel.

Works fine.

The lip it creates is huge though, so if you play with your wrists on the edges of the stick you’re gonna irritate them. I play with the stick on my laps, so my palms are resting on the surface and my wrists don’t rest on anything (so no pain from the raised surface).

The art/plexi still doesn’t lay completely flat the way I want it to, but it looks better than it did before, I think.

RIP to the OBSC tabs though, I could only save one button with both tabs intact, the rest all have one broken… geez

I just soldered a USB cord together after my dog chewed it. Was working perfectly until now. I get double up and down movements every now and then. Just wondering if the problem usually indicates a bad connection with the USB wires or is it a microswitch problem. Thanks in advance!

Ah, execution error  I sometimes get that, too, but usually when I’m not paying attention. Anyway, PA has LS-40 in stock now and on top of that they just released hollow shafts for it.

@RedTag14‌ Did you wrap each wire individually? If you short out one if it touches another piece of metal like ground or another live signal, then that could be causing problems. Wrap each wire with electrical tape and then wrap the bundle together after that.

Instead of patching the USB cord, try replacing the whole cord.

Solder joints are brittle, and can easily break.

Even twisted joints are better for long cable runs. Just wrap them up after or heat shrink.

Which of the Qanba/Eightarc sticks are the highest quality ?

The eightarc fusion AND the Q4 look really great. Is there much difference between the two ?

My fighting edge is really well made but I just cant get past a few things that bug me. Looking for a nice dual modded stick. I play with the stick on my lap.

You answered your own question on which is the best.

The eightarc fusion AND the Q4 differences, cosmetic.

Now that said I rather have the Fighting Edge, yes it is only for one system but the PCB out of Eightarc/Qanba sticks are not the most reliable.

if I could just fix this problem with my fighting edge I would love it so I’ll ask if you have any ideas

my problem with my fighting edge is that the touchscreen is really really buggy

not sure if youve used a there are four buttons start back X and a button that looks like two arrows

the button that looks like two arrows is the problem…you hold it down to change the the actual physical buttons to what you want

the problem is this mode gets activated randomly all the time when I just barely graze the touchscreen…then when I try to turn it off it will just get stuck in that mode until I unhook the joystick

I opened the stick and everything looks good…not sure why its having this problem

How long you had this stick?

3 months

@Moonchilde I wrapped each wire individually with electrical tape, shielded the bundle with foil, then applied a heat shrink. I did not coil the wires together though because I was having difficulty doing so with the extremely thin wires. x( I followed Nerrage’s video on YouTube.

@Darksakul Yea, I’m most definitely going to do that eventually. I was going for the short term solution. I hope it’s not a PCB problem, because this is happening on my Q4. The patch I did for the HORI FE USB still seems to be holding up. We discussed earlier about a Neutrik NAUSB pass through. From my understanding, I need to install the pass through on the case (What size hole saw do I need?), solder the USB Type A male end to the PCB inside the case, plug the male end to the pass through (still inside), then attach a USB Tybe B cable on the outside of the case, right?

I tried to “discipline” my dog to stop biting cords. I would ask how to do that here, but I don’t think it belongs in a tech talk forum. lol

Lastly, I searched how to dual mod a HORI FE. There are claims that it can be done, but not much direction to go about doing it. I have a PS3 version, but if it’s easier to dual mod an Xbox 360 version, then I might consider getting one of those as well.
