No stick by default comes with a Octogate, Period.
If you are buying a Retail stick, with the exception of some collector items all Premium arcade sticks run from $140 to $200.

I would like to make something like this http://www.midifighter.com/

With a standard joystick pcb I think I can get 12 control outputs? up down left right and 8 buttons. 12 could work, but preferably like to get 16 or 20.

Is there a board I can buy that will emulate a keyboard or midi device?

You’re looking for an Arduino of some kind or another. Bottom line is that if you want something that isn’t console specific you’re probably going to have to do some kind of dedicated development of your own. I’d recommend doing searches for Arduino Midi projects.

Doubt heavily that you’re going to just find a generic controller based PCB with that many inputs ready built.

You can get controllers with as many as 64 inputs, although some are dedicated analog inputs. I’m a Sim Racer, and there are all kinds of solutions available for cockpit button box projects. Doing a search for flight sim or sim racing controller might help find what you’re looking for.

Thanks! I’ll get to work finishing my SE and I’ll (eventually) make another stick.

@jet133: You’ll probably want a Teensy 2.0 ++ with some implementation of http://www.pjrc.com/teensy/td_midi.html That should get you enough inputs, but if not mux chips aren’t hard to find.

I have no idea what stick (brand) is this. Could someone care to tell me which one it is, and tell me which is the right template for it?

All I know is that it goes by the name ‘Universal Fighting Stick’ (PS2/PS3/PC)

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/247940736/game_accessories_for_multifunction_3_in.html

It reads ‘HONCAM’ as the brand name for that stick.

It might just be a Chinese knock-off of the Hori SEs…don’t know. Any help, would be appreciated.

It is indeed a knock-off. A friend of mine has several of them that he purchased just to gut and turn into loaner sticks. He a calls them Poop-sticks, they are painted gold and have a line pattern on the sides (which is apparently a MapleStory reference).

Has anyone made a proper -up to scale- psd Template?

Looking to turn one into a mini version of my already dual-modded Madcatz SE stick, probably use it as a loan-stick &/or for ease of portability.

Are there any prospects for modding current gen sticks for next gen consoles? (XB1/PS4) Or is that not known yet.

If there are any resources regarding this floating around someone could point me to that’d be great.

It will start like this, either the new consoles are going to support old USB sticks…if they don’t! Someone will make/sell some sort of cheap USB adapter that will allow you to play with the old Fightsticks, and then later on we’ll start seeing new PCBs that support Next-Gen & Old-Gen…or new firmware updates of current PCBs that will allow support.

I would say wait and see what the future holds, when the new consoles ARE out & READY will start seeing these scenarios play out accordingly.

It looks identical to a Mayflash stick, you know its bad when they budget brands has knockoffs. its a Knock off of another knock off.

Look for Mayflash templates.

So far no current Xbox 360 controllers will work for the Xbone and this is confirmed by Microsoft.

For the PS4, There nothing other than conjecture and rumor at this moment.
The PS3 Sixaxis and Dualshock 3 said not to work, but the PS Move controllers will work.
There no official word on wired controllers, most the 3rd party controller makers (like Mad Catz for example) been pretty tight lipped.
Rumor is Mike Z of Zero Labs hinted that wired gamepads will work but said nothing about arcade sticks.

Good thing there was an abundance of cheap PS3 <-> 360 converters…

Does anyone know if you can put regular TE side panels on a TE S+. Also does anybody know of another place besides gameshark.com where I can buy different color side panels?

@MG3181 - Yes. TE, TE-S, and TE-S+ are essentially the same body style. I’ve replaced the side panels on my SCV stick (TE-S style) to the regular TE sides (Smoke), and have bought a set of white TE-S sides for my TTT2 (TE-S+) stick. They all mount the same way - 3 screws holding each side to the top panel from the underside.

As for another outlet, I have never seen any. The MCZ store is the only place I have ever seen them (aside from custom wood panels). It has been asked before why certain colors are not available (without a clear explanation why) but I would suspect that since some of the colors have been available on limited edition sticks, they probably don’t want to dilute the value of those sticks.

@PlayDoh003 thanx man. I appreciate the answer to my question. You just put my mind at ease.

@PlayDoh003 I have one more question 4 u or anyone else that my know. Are ArcEyes still being sold and if so where can I purchase them and are they compatible with the sparky jr?

@MG3181 - it seems like the AE3’s are still in stock on Toodles’ site (GDLK), but I don’t know if they are compatible with the Sparky Jr., though.

I have a MadCatz Tournament Edition Fightstick S (PS3) that does not work with my current PC motherboard for whatever reason (I know the PS3 sticks have problems). I am willing to go and buy a PCI or external USB card that will allow it to function, but I was wondering if anyone had any pointers as to which ones would work. If not I will just randomly buy them and return them.

Thanks for the help!

Is there a thread for fixing broken fightsticks? or can i just ask here?
