Exactly.

Thanks, and can I run 4 ground cables into the PCB? Just to have clean wiring

There are 3 separate terminals for GND on the PS360+… Personally, I used one for the JLF, the second for the daisy chained Home-Select-Start buttons, and the third for the daisy chained action buttons when I built a stick for my Dad a few months ago.

Does a Madcatz BrawlPad have the same PCB as a SFxT FightPad?
-ud

No.

But they can be hacked in the same way.

thanks man i thought so but had to double check…lol ended up cutting it out anyways but its always helpful to have more info to better understand pcbs

How do I attach art to a SE? I want to attach it with the sticky stuff, cut it to size, and then attach the screws but I don’t think that that would work too well.

Second, what would be a good case to use for creating a custom stick (putting in my own parts, wires, etc. I will use a Cthulhu.)? I would like something besides Madcatz. Not too large but not SE small either. And can you give me a price estimate on how much the empty case would cost?

@Papinguim

Actually, that is exactly how to do it. Just take the top plate off while applying the art, cutting the holes, and trimming the edges.

You’re in luck! NightWalker just returned from hiatus from creating his super popular SimpleCases (they range from $50 to $170). You can put in your order on his site http://www.simplecase.org/order.html

However if you want, say, a hollowed out TE or some other stick that you can cannibalize the case from, you can check out the trading forum here on SRK. There’s always something for everyone.

Would anyone happen to know if Alienware laptops have any significant display lag? I have an m17x, and want to take it to tournaments but I want to be assured it’s as responsive as the ASUS monitors.

I can’t find anything on the LTN170CT11 panel that’s in that laptop, if you have access to a camera and either a known low-input lag monitor or CRT, you can test it yourself.

From the THE NEW DEFINITIVE HDTV LAG FAQ thread

Okie dokie. Sorry guys, but at least I figured out how to test it now. I got some interesting results however, I’ll keep working on it.

Don’t take it too hard, I am just quoting the HD Lag thread.

that text is repeated about 5 times in the actual thread. I just Copy and Paste only 1 line.

So would it be fine if I put the plastic stuff that covered the sticky part back on stick (just over the screw holes)?

Those look pretty sweet! Are there any differences between the wood types?
On the neutrik jack section, does he actually install one or does he just cut it so that you can easily install one? And what’s the difference between the budget and premium cases?

Yes.

The only real differences in the wood types are their color and pattern. The budget case has less options in meant to be finished and painted by you. You’ll need to purchase your own Neutrik (neutriks are not available for the budget).

If you need a Neutrik you find them for a great price here.

Also if you need more info on the SimpleCase you can find it on the About page of that his site.

I’ve got a MCZ SCV stick with a partial connector Cerberus that I plan on doing a “stealth” install with. Basically, I plan on installing the small face on the underside of the PCB, soldering to the appropriate pins for the buttons. While I was planning this out, it occurred to me… Has anyone ever tried installing a Neutrik USB adapter on the back side of the TE cable storage box? I’ve looked at possibly using a 24mm sheet metal press to cut the hole vs. trying to drill it, but I’m afraid that it might actually crack the plastic instead… Any suggestions?

Looking to buy an Octagonal Fightstick.
Anyone know a brand off the top of their heads that octagonal comes as standard?
I’m wanting to change/upgrade from Square Gate to Octagonal. As I never really feel comfortable with Square.

Just buy an octogate and then change it out. Hell I could sell you one of my spare ones if you wanted. Super easy to install.

Yeah. A brand new one and not more than $200 if possible. I’m looking for one that’s not too loud and that is good for UMvC3 and SSFIV: AE (if there are certain ones better for certain games)

There are very few sticks that you can find that are more than $200 at retail price. Any stick with Sanwa parts will be good for those two games so you might as well look for the cheapest stick with those parts IMO. Of course some people like certain things in sticks but without straight up asking him, not sure how you’d find out that information. You can definitely find a Sanwa stick at $100 or less though.
