Hey there guys just a quick question. Finally taking the plunge into fighters and looking to invest in a stick. The burning question i have is, if i buy a stick now will it be possible to mod it to the new generation?
I know there’s dual mod sticks out now. So will it be possible to mod a stick i buy right now for the new generation? Thank you guys so much!

At the current time, with information as limited as it is, it’s really difficult to tell whether or not the current generation of stick PCBs can be modded into something that will work with all consoles.
That being said, most of us here are modders and enthusiasts. Many of us love a challenge and will figure out some way of making something that works, it may take a year or 2, but you can bet your ass one of us will figure it out. After someone figures out the “whats” and the “whys” of the next gen controllers, someone with the time, money, and talent will figure out some elegant solution.
(i.e. the evolution from tearing down a wired XBOX 360 controller and soldering the hell out of it to the PS360+)
Short answer: You most likely will be able to mod it to work with the new consoles, but not immediately after release.
Well, I can’t say for sure, but I read on another forum that Mike Z mentioned on a recent Salty Cupcakes episode that PS3 USB fight sticks WILL work on PS4, but since I didn’t see the stream first hand, I couldn’t say for sure.
As for the XBox One, it’s already been confirmed that It WILL NOT accept Xbox360 peripherals. That was somewhat expected, and I’d actually be a little surprised if the news about the PS4 is true.
So, that being said, I’m gonna guess that the new security chip will probably be more complicated than the 360’s, so it will probably be a while before we see a PS360+One (hehe)… The only saving grace would be if the XBO controller was common ground, but I don’t think we’ll be that lucky. We’ll just have to wait for the genius modders to get their hands on a controller, and some serious pad hacking will probably be the only way for a while.
I say that if you really feel the itch, just get a stick now… It’s not like there’s a line of next gen fighting games waiting in the wings anyways. I’d say it’s a great time to be playing all the titles that are out on PS3/360 now! By the time a triple/quad/next gen dual mod solution is out, we’ll probably have plenty of next gen fighting goodness to enjoy.
Most awesome!
Also hypothetically if you’ve got your stick modded to work for PS3 it would work on PS4? Providing Mike Z was correct that is.
I’m going to CEO (live in FL) so hopefully i can find a good deal on a stick there!
Thanks for the help again guys
All any mod takes is time, skill, creativity, know-how, and resources (money, parts and tools are all resources).

if i dont cut out the advanced face in the cerberus partial connector version would that double(or triple) points to solder to (pins in connectors, holes where connectors would be on full version, and advanced face)?
Okay lets see if I understood you, so I am translating your message into English.
If you cut down the cerberus, would the cut down Cerberus have more solder points than a Full Sized Cerberus Minus the connectors.
NO. Not Really at All. Okay you have a few points doubled like the VCC and GND points but it shouldn’t be any harder.

how do I remove a comp stick and happ buttons? trying to gut this stick so I can sell the case

You are better off trying to sell the whole stick as stock than striping out the parts. Unaltered sticks sell for a higher value.
You have to remove the bottom panel off first.
Are there any cheap common ground pads I can pick up at gamestop or something? I only really need it to work on a PC, if that helps.
maybe I should have been more clear, my apologies.
it’s already sold, they just want the case not the parts.
bottom panel is already removed
I just need a PCB for a padhack, so what’s the cheapest thing I could get in a store?

Does anyone have a detailed schematic of Mad Catz Tournament Edition FightSicks? I’d really like to find something with machining levels of accuracy including internal dimensions, but I’d settle for some semi detailed measurements to the nearest millimeter.
Xbox Power A or used Mad Cat pad
Could someone tell me if this stick works for PC? The PS3 Cross Version
Mad Catz Street Fighter X Tekken - Arcade FightStick PRO - Cross for Playstation 3 - http://www.amazon.com/Mad-Catz-Street-Fighter-Tekken-Playstation/dp/B0072A4KRA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1371153495&sr=8-2&keywords=Fightstick+TE
And what´s the difference between Cross and Line Versions?
The art is the only difference, and the PS3 version should have no problems working on PC.
This one?
There used to be issues with MCZ sticks working properly on PC’s with non-Intel chipsets on early TE models, but from what i’ve read all current products have resolved that issue. I know that my TE-S and TE-S+ for 360 work fine on PC. Personally, I’ve never seen an official statement from MCZ on the matter. Of you’re worried about it, you might want to consider getting the 360 version… It will work on PC (as an XBox controller), and if you have a PS3, you can always dual-mod it.
As for the Line and Cross editions, I think the only difference is in the artwork. I see no technical reason for the price difference on Amazon… Maybe they just wanted to get rid of stock on the cross edition?
Newer TEs (including the “Pro” line of sticks) have the upgraded PCB for PC compatibility. Technically Markman said that the PS3 PCB isn’t guaranteed to work on PC, but nobody’s reported any problems with the newer PCB unlike the older TEs. It should work fine on your computer.
Yes they have, one of them being me.
The PS3 TE-S motherboards have a lower problem rate than the TE ver.B boards but are still not quite perfect. Strange considering that Toodles made a PS3 board by himself that still works flawlessly on PC. I have no idea why MadCatz or some other company didn’t hire him from the get go.
