Yes, all of it. It’s a long read, but everything is fairly important for being able to understanding a dual mod.
But you should buy a 360 TE since you already have two Cthulhu, since they are PS3 PCBs. No point in putting a Cthulhu in a PS3 TE, it’s already got its own PS3 PCB. Unless if you wanted to play on PC without hassle. But if you start with a 360 TE, you don’t have to buy a 360 PCB. Get an Imp V2, as well. They can console auto-detect with a Cthulhu.
I sprayed my case with vinyl dye today and seem to have screwed up. I think I sprayed it too thick and in too cold a surrounding. The finish appears mottled, the colour is inconsistent and it feels rough and powdery to the touch. As it’s black it is not as noticeable as it could have been but it’s still unpleasant and obviously not what I was attempting to achieve.
What would be the best solution for salvaging it? Perhaps sanding the whole thing down with wet 3000 grit sandpaper? I thought I’d check with you guys first as I’m unsure of what kind of effect that would have on the gloss finish and so forth.

Are HRAP3 SA’s dual moddable? I’m getting a local place here to mod it (when the P360+ gets back in stock) but I’m hearing that the HRAP EX SE isn’t (I was thinking of buying one and reverse modding it for PS3)
I’m a stick noob, so thanks in advance for the advice.

If you’re putting in a PS360, you can do a full gut and replace even with a HRAP EX or HRAP EX SE.
The HRAP EX and HRAP EX SE are not common ground, so you can’t do a normal dual mod, but if you’re putting in a PS360, you dont need the original board at all. Gut it and replace with the PS360.
Are there any of these that have a spot for connecting the microphone input? My wireless mic broke recently and I’ve been using corded ones and it looks like the Paewang doesn’t.

They do not. The newer PS360+ is supposed to have one, but it has not been released and I dont think there is any ETA yet.
Ahh well, board hack it is then. None of my friends are into fighters and the local arcade doesn’t have a single fighting game in it so I’m stuck utilizing online play for competition so I need that microphone.

Sad, sad day.
Seriously, check the regional forums near your area. You might find a hotspot that has weekly or bi-weekly casuals nearby. Online play is okay, but nothing beats local when it comes to Fighters.
Alright guys, I’m seriously in the home stretch with my stick. One last thing I need to know is what size drill bit do I need to drill the holes for the neutrik adapter?

I just got SSF4AE on PC and my PS3 controller on this version is awful. It won’t detect diagonals correctly. I’m using Motionjoy, are there any settings or anything to fix this? Sometimes I’m walking backwards when I’m supposed to be crouching and blocking and other times I can’t spiral arrow through fireballs.

Big one in the middle is 24mm. I get by with a 1/8" drill bit for the two small holes to hold it in.
Haven’t the slightest idea other than your program sending signals that the AE doesn’t like. It’s been notorious for being tough to configure with the Cthulhu on default settings. But I’m not familiar with that program, so I don’t know what to tell you.

Actually I solved another problem with the game, which was inconsistent framerate (used Rivatuner) and now that the game is consistently locked at 60 fps the directional input problem seems to be absolutely solved. It feels identical to playing on PS3.
alright…i’m gona do it, right now! gona buy a 360 stick and dual mod to work on pc/ps3 with the Cthulhu. thx! that link is really helpful. i should have looked/browsed around srk a lil more but glad you helped out with that post! ;p when stick arrives and i get my hands into it ill post pics and such… dont b suprised if i post while modding with questions lol.
I very well may end up getting the classic Namco stick for the PS1 soon, how good is it stock? The modification seems complicated enough that I wouldn’t be able to mod it on my own at my current level of expertise.

Play with it as stock as possible!
If the buttons are fubared, you can replace them. Seimitsu G’s are the closest in feel to the Namco buttons I know of, so I’d recommend getting yellow versions of those and swapping them in, if and only if you need to.
Many guides shows swapping the stick for a JLF. I HIGHLY recommend to do not do this. If you have any problems with the stick, I would recommend disassembling it, cleaning the peaces, re-lubing the pivot bushing, and replacing the microswitches. That kind of overhaul should be all that is needed.
I’ve dont a JLF mod on a Namco, and have been regretting it ever since. The height and pivot spacing and everything else is better with the original joystick, IMHO.
I concur with Toodles. Many older sticks like the Classic Namco stick should try to keep stock as much as possible.
I am facing a mod on a different stick from the same era (or close to it) and I found it easier to try to keep most of the stick stock.
So…ArcEyes 2 do not fit in new Sanwa OBSC Clears…What are you guys using to light up your new sanwas? (new stick in the works). Please provide a link where I can purchase if possible! Thank you.
Edit#1: Also If you could point me in the right direction for information regarding Drilled shafts for light up ball-top mods…that’d be great
(using sanwa parts if possible)

AFAIK, KNserts are the only ones that fit into the clear sanwas. Link to purchase in sig. If it has to be an RGB LED insert, I dont know of any.

What would be recommended to fit this situation:
- currently have a SSFIV TE-S
-> plan on LED modding
–> Multi-color LEDs for buttons ?
–> Joystick with bubbletop that lights up when used ?
-> using either Sanwa 30mm Snap-ins or Semitsu 30mm screw-ins [transparent]
-> SanwaJLF and probably a Semitsu Bubbletop or will search for a transparent bubbletop later.
-> would like to use Sparky Jr. to program LEDs.
–> Also unsure as to which Sparky Jr. to get. There was a FTDI one and don’t know what that is.
What kind of LEDs should I use? Is there anything I need to know before purchasing these buttons? I haven’t decided the between the screw-ins and snap-ins since I am still unsure of the advantages and disadvantages when installing them to the TE-S .
EDIT: Also planning on getting a Kitty-TE for PS3 compatibility on it since it will start off as a xb360 stick. I’ve seen the Paewang Revolution and PS360 and I will just stick with ordering a Kitty-TE in the future.

If you want the LEDs to be different colors at different times (sometimes red, sometimes green, etc.) then your only current solution is a one of the Sparkys to control the LEDs. Sparky will work well with either Ulia type RGB LEDs (I dont think the Ulia that is RGB+White though. The just RGB one, sure.) or with PurpleArm’s ArcEye2’s.
However, niether of those will work in a clear Sanwa without modification. Both should work fine in clear Seimitsu’s screw ins, the KN’s.
But, if I were you, I’d be using the clear Seimitsu snap-ins, NOT the screw ins. The snapins are K’s, while the screwins are KN’s. In a metal panel like the TE-S, the snapins will stay in better; no chance of unscrewing. Now, I don’t know whether the Ulia’s or ArcEyes will fit in a K’s. I hope someone else can chime in on this.
