If Ladanian and Brees gets their shit going, it’s hard to stop San Diego. If Holmes gets more runs, their defense holds up, and Green stop throwing INTS, the Chiefs would be hard to stop. If Portis isn’t hurt, and so is Plummer, the Broncos would be a tough team to beat. Now, if Miami lets Williams (Ricky) run like hell, that will open up the field for Fiedler, thus creating more opportunities for Miami to score equalling more wins for them. It’s hard to determine everything this past 2 weeks since the Cowboys beat the Giants with just a field goal (same goes with the Panthers beating my Bucs 
damn it ), and the Texans beating the Dolphins, this would be one hell of a year for football. Oh I forgot to mention, the Raiders…bleh. They need to throw more in order to open up the run, which doesn’t make sense since the rule is, when you run, you open up the air, not the other way around :D. Btw Rob, did you see the game with the Raiders? It was ugly, really, really ugly.

I just started, so this is a blast to me. I can’t express how fun it is to watch competetive play first hand. I LOVE watching JP and Chris GGXX matches, and usually Rob and JP CvS2 matches. I just think everything is WAY better here then in the Bemani Community.

Not me. As much as I love the game, I really just want to focus on the fun, yet old, CvS2.

As much as I hate to say it: Marvel is obviously most popular, so I think you should consider learning it. It really is entertaining at high levels.

Nick Campbell likes Dragon Ash, and anyone who likes Dragon Ash is cool in my book. Nicole is super nice, too. Chris is quiet to me usually, but I absolutely think he is the best GGXX player.

I used to see him play Raphael in the arcades, so I just called him that. One of the best, for sures.

I think if we all just focus on ONE game, whether is be GGXX, CvS2 or ST (SC2 = No) then we can be one of the greats. We have the potential, we just need to show the compassion other teams have. We are getting new people everyday!

Gaming questions
- No, because I can not compete with you guys.
- I hated getting rid of Street Fighter Alpha 3 from the Atlantis. And that nobody from the Reno crew really played it that much.
- I dunno, didn’t go.
- We should still play it, to at least get me better.
- I’m willing to learn the basics of 2d fighting games.
- I’m willing to learn GGXX more.
- Nobody really plays Marvel anymore, but hey, we should start playing anyway, sometimes it’s a good idea to take a break from other fighting games.
- I have to get broadband first before I get that.
- A lot of people will play that game. It’s Final Fantasy, people will buy anything Final Fantasy.
- SvC being Sammy VS. Capcom is cool. SNK vs. Capcom isn’t that good from what I’ve played.
- I dunno, never got a chance to play it.
- KoF is cool, but not that many play that besides the hardcore fighting gamers, so I’m more of a street fighter bum.
General Questions
- Rob’s attitude is cool, he proved to me that he is an ultimate fighting game jockey.
- You seem to be into other stuff besides fighting games which is cool. I think you should buy a GBA SP though, because making up all these questions, you must be really bored.
- Paul crazy? No, I don’t think he’s crazy.
- JC attitude and skill surpassed mine, but he needs to hire a new hair stylist. I can tell you don’t like your hair either because you always wear a beanie.
- I dunno about Andrei’s Johnny, but his overall skill in SC2 is quite impressive. We were playing SC2 Saturday night, his mitsu angaist my taki, and we were having back to back wins on each other, but he took the last win, so he’s more superior then me, plus he knows how to use more characters.
- Nick Y is second best at SC2. He wants people to beat him at SC2 so he can leave Atlantis earlier.
- The Campbell brothers are cool. Chris showed me that 2d gamers can easily master SC2 in a short period of time.
- Gary is improving every week at SC2. Yet I still have an edge over him. He can hella kick my ass in Tekken, and he since I don’t play VF4 Evo that much, he can kick my ass in that game too.
- Nick Jr. Ivy is overpowering. Oh well, I think I’m the last one to beat your Ivy in casual play. Of course he is number 1 Reno. Though now he hates the game that he’s the best at.
- Vinh is only good at SC2, sort of good in Tekken 4, and sux at every other fighting game. Since fighting games are his 4th priority in life, it will take him a very very very very long time to achieve the level of the top 2d fighters in Reno.
- Cameron improvement in both SC2 and GGXX has shown. He will soon be feared by all fighting gamers.
- The future of the Reno Crew, umm? Who knows, lets go see a tarot card reader.
- I think the future is that one filopino kid (I think he’s filopino) and he comes in regularly to play SC2 and GGXX. I seen him at Atlantis during the daytime, he dominates everybody that challenges him, and I think he’s only like 12 or 13. I still can beat him at both, but the stuff he can do is pretty impressive, I couldn’t do none of the stuff that he was doing when I was his age. Then theres that little chubby asian kid with glasses. He’s probably like 7 or 8, but all he does is button mash, and I haven’t seen him in a while.
Why am I answering all these questions? Oh yeah, I’m pretending to do homework so my Mom won’t tell me to do chores.

No. I almost never have fun and I’m almost always pissed off about losing. I’ve tried to quit because I tend to have a bad attitude about it. Having more fun just lately as I’ve figured out SC2 a little bit better, but still think it’s a kinda dumb game.

4. I have no idea how to get started in 2D games, but I really should incase 2D games don’t have a lot of the stuff that bugs me in 3D games.

I kind of want to, but realisticly I doubt I’ll be willing to put the work in. I pretty much never play fighting games at home, or read about strat anymore. Plus knowing that there is a more updated console version will annoy me. JC once told me it was a really good game and then said there were 90% combos in the same breath. That didn’t make any sense to me.

His Ivy is so annoying to play against. But then he was switching to Taki who is like tied with Ivy on my most hated SC Char list. And nobody is even really good at whoring out Taki’s mix ups yet.

I don’t really care about the national scene that much. It seems much less important to me than the local scene. You travel for a tournament like 4 times a year maybe. You play localy like 90 times a year or so. So what games our arcades have and our town has comp in is more important to me than what might be the hot game online.
It’s interesting to see how much momentum this thread has gotten, because for such a long time Reno had no presence on the internet at all. I like this thread.
Fighting games are kind of a crappy habit, because so much of the experience depends on shit you can’t control (arcades getting games, good controls) and it tends to bring out negative parts of peoples personalities.

Uhm, I like to think of my Ivy as more of a “refined” character, instead of “annoying”. After all, for the people I do actually beat, if I really am doing “the same shit over and over” then why are you still getting caught in it?
From what I notice: there are ALOT less Cables in the MvC2 community. People learned how to get around it, so people need to learn how to beat a long range character, such as Ivy. Overpowering? No. Refined? Yes. You have to realize while Nick Y. was learning like 2 or 3 characters at one time, I stuck with Ivy for close to a year. She is the only character I EVER played until a few weeks back, when I spent a little time with Taki.
Then I just said fuck it.
