But it isn’t a grab. No one has proved that it is yet, so I’m calling bullshit. There’s no such thing as a grab that “hits low” … it will be like the kick finisher to his CoD… it looks like a grab, but has normal hit properties. I will gladly eat my words if someone can prove to me that it’s unblockable like ANY OTHER COMMAND GRAB

yeah the tornado throw does grab crouching opponents…not sure what move you were thinking about
My wish list:
1- hit confirm combos. A lot of chars have damaging hit confirm combos without having to FADC to hit confirm it. Abel has to FADC just to confirm about 300 damage combo, while the whole cast can confirm every single combo they have with crouching jabs
2- reliable reversal option. Abel’s defense is bad, so he really needs it
3- normals with good range ( of course not long range ) and speed, something like gief’s st.mp or ken’s st.mk
number 2 i agree with i hate not having any reversal ability other than a well timed TT…1. abel builds meter pretty quickly so i dont really see the problem with having to do FADC. Abel has pretty good combos that dont require FADC that can punish pretty well. 3. s.lk is one of the best and fastest normals in the game but i kinda sorta agree because sometime the start up on some of the normals dont allow me to punish how id like…take c.mp for example…but u could easily just use croucing jab into s.fp etc so i dont know on that one
also having to do FADC makes him less noob friendly which i like…really have to work to get good with him

Abel does have hit confirms… and then there is always c.lk, c.lp, c.lp (s/c.lp) s.mp which is a nice 140-160 damage off a short and is comparable to Ryu and Cammy’s hit confirms except it doesn’t knock down. The whole cast can’t confirm everything from jabs… I understand if you are tempted to exagerrate to make your point, but at least try and be mostly right. Abel doesn’t need one reliable reversal option. He has a bunch that all work in different situations. This may sound crazy, but if you sit tight and wait for the right opening, you can get away just with what he has.
And again, standing far light kick. Deadly poke. Ever used it before?
There is only one thing I want right now for Abel, just this one thing:
Give Abel’s light punch Change of Direction juggle and air knockdown (techable fall) properties.
The main reason for this, is that in mid-high level games, Abel gets a lot of damage out of F+MK, s.hp, cod (and then fadc into whatever).
CoD is his biggest weapon once you have two meters. However, there have been a large number of incidents where Abel will get a hit, cancel it into CoD, only to find the opponent airborne.This is because when people see the hit animation of their normal (usually s.hp), it’s hard to tell whether they’re in air state or not… this leads to a whiffed CoD, leading into huge counter damage since Abel is so wide open.
This situation also happens a lot on punishes. If you punish a move that puts the opponent into airstate even a little bit early with c.mk, the cod whiffs completely.

It seems like a situation that should never happen, but in actual, practical matches it happens all the time. Making LP CoD have a juggle state gives Abel a safer option, but also reduces his damage as a result.

yeah i was exaggerating. what i wanted to say is: many chars, for example ryu, can hit confirm a combo that deals about 300 damage without using a stock from his EX bar. while abel have to FADC just to hit confirm his combo
To be honest, i use it only in his block strings. I’ll try using it.
that happens to me all the time! u get punished for putting pressure on ur opponent just because they jump,all abel needs is better priority for his normals for better reversals maybe a faster jab, also standing fierce needs to hit crouching characters regardless of size especially if u hit the f.mk.and fix his wheel kick give it knockdown make so u can link it to combos.or give it faster start up and let it go over fireballs. abel can only wheelkick and roll if he is across the screen

how about make his Cr. Fierce a better anti air, but have it still do what it does offensively
Sagat in that video gets reset by the cr.mk, as is standard for a normal hitting an airborne opponent. Nothing can hit you in a reset state. So yeah, not going to change.
I just saw a video of the SF4 beta where the kicks in COD comboed… made me pretty wishful as it looked awesome and added a real mixup to COD. If COD is just used in combos anyway why not add comboable kicks? you could still be dp’d out on block so I don’t see it being a big deal to his balance. it’s not like it does more damage than the punch version and would be a fun trick to throw in on occasion.
At least make the finisher K comboable…
it would be interesting if ultra two comboed from the 2nd hit K of COD (considering how abels pose on ultra startup is similar to the 3rd K hit, and you can FADC the second COD K for some reason)
