A3 Rolento strats plz

shinkuu hadokens can’t be airblocked

Yeah, that’s what I meant to say.
It’s amazing how forgetting to put a 't can make you look like a dumbass.
Edited.

First you say that grounded moves/supers can’t be air-blocked. Then you say that the reason the Sonic Break and the Shinkuu Hadouken can’t be air-blocked is that they are not grounded.

Hello! I’ve been playing as Rolento in A3 for the past few months and feel I should contribute to this a little. Just keep in mind that I’m a little new to the SF scene, so I might not explain what I do with all your fancy terms for moves.

Also, just know that these are all for A-ism Rolento, X is just a little too bouncy for me and I haven’t even come close to mastering V yet.

Anyway, here are some things that Ive seen work best:

  • Getting up close to your opponent and hitting them a bunch with lp. Lp seems to be his best quick-damaging move, and you can usually get two or three in if you’re fast enough before they start blocking or back up. It’s also great to hit them just once to knock them off their guard before going into a 3x Patriot Circle or Take No Prisoners.

  • While in a Patriot Circle, you can delay the next attack a little to make them feel secure and lower their guard before quickly going into the next spin and hitting them. Patriot Circle is also GREAT for when you’ve got them in the corner with just a little health left since it does a bunch of chip damage. I’ve won a bunch of matches where I killed them through their guard this way.

  • All Rolento’s specials are easy to block, so you have to time them exactly. For the Minesweeper, you have to wait until they have just started jumping at you or they will block it. Landing this will bring them closer to you and you can follow with a sliding crouched hk when they are standing up. Take No Prisoners is very easy to block, so you need to do it when they are either attacking or you’ve just knocked them off their guard. If you do hit them you can get one or two good hits in with lp while they’re falling. Steel Rain is completely useless, any opponent is just going to move out of the way unless you do it with 3 super bars.

  • If you time it exactly right, you can keep hitting someone with sliding hk over and over as they are standing up. It’s kind of a cheap move, but it’s great for when you’re desperate.

Anyway, I hope this helps someone. Rolento is definitely my favorite character so far. I’m still trying to get better with Dan and Adon, but Rolento just has such an interesting playstyle that I’m really fond of.
