oh shit sorry man, i thought it was like diablo where everyone gets the “quest items”
how is your dude level 3, do you mean level 23?
i wish i could use a stick and play this, but it was clearly designed with the xbox pad in mind

I just keep finding more about the game. I didn’t even realize I could use the B button with magic to shoot little things out instead of the giant clusters of icicles. I was wondering if each character had a different kind of way to cast the spell (besides the status effect) but I guess you just have two kinds. It’s nice that even the small ice cubes freeze guys though, makes it easier for those 1 on 1’s. And yes, I meant 23. It wasn’t a big deal beating the dragon, to be honest it was a lot harder to get there than to beat the guy since I knew how to do it now. Not your fault, you just happened to be closer to the door that’s all. I think you went in first.
How do you do the whirlwind attack while in “SANDWICH MODE”? I’ve done it a few times but could never figure out how.
Also, did anyone lol pretty hard when the Cyclopse died? I’m sure you guys know what reference that happens when he dies.
Jump and hit any attack. Sometimes it comes out when you’re standing on the ground, but yeah. Just keep mashing it and you float up in the air looking like an f’ing idiot, but it’s hillarious.
Also, there’s a few secrets. I’m going back to earlier levels and just running through them quickly.
Check out the Thieves Forest and Tall Grass Field - Bring bombs to the woods and something for a picnic in the grass.
Between this and Shred Nebula or whatever it’s called I’ll be putting some time in to my Xbox here pretty soon. Finally, games I want to play, and I don’t even have to leave my house to buy them.
I’m holding out for Vigilante 8. I see this side scrolling button masher getting repetitive REALLY fast.
WTF? They got the stungun headbutt in this game XD…only it needs to hit once to take effect.
When do you get the headbutt? I got my guy up to level 28, maybe at level 30?
I’m doing the first level after you cross the “ocean” or whatever.
On The Water/Ship
Anyone else find it funny that they put Ninjas on a Pirate ship? I guess that takes care of the age old debate as to which would win… just compromise! Seems like a lot of fan service kind of stuff in this game.
Also, anyone know how many animals there are in total?
Only tried it once and died during the “escape” sequence, wasn’t sure where to go.
Man, I feel like I’ve been waiting the longest for this game (since I saw this post over three years ago) and I can’t play it until MS returns my dead 360. At least my 360 is on its way home now…
damn i wanna go home and level my dude, he’s only level 18.
i think for my next char i will do a strenght melee guy or a bow agility guy. the bosses and tougher enemies seem to be resistant to magic
so im trying to get my friend to buy this and hes asking stuff like “is there a deep combat system” to which i respond “uhhh…”. to me it sounds like he wants this to be diablo 3 or something. so help me pitch this game to him! what is there to do? why is it so fun?
The combat system is as deep as you want it to be, imo.
You have a whole bunch of combos and attacks you unlock throughout the game, but after playing a bit this afternoon I’ve realized that jumping heavy attacks cancelled into air magic back into jumping light attacks comboed into jumping heavy pretty much trumps all. And yes, you should be in the air for that entire series of things.
Sure it’s a button mashing sidescroller beatemup, but it’s something that you have to actually think a little bit during or you’re going to get slaughtered imo. It’s not as deep as Diablo, but it’s great fun if you like these kinds off games.
I might be going to look at an apartment this afternoon, not sure, so if I’m not around just wait around and I’ll be back. Anyone want to try and schedule a 4 player co-op session tonight?
And domiino, just invite your friend over and play co-op offline to give him a taste of it. Or have him play the demo for free.
Edit: And LOL I just got the sausage, I don’t like its stats though. Anyone know what that little icon at the bottom of some of the weapons means - it looks like an A, and I’ve seen a b as well if you go to the blacksmith.
I put all my stats into magic but I think my orange knight is only level 7-8.
Wild Kitty: I was using that combo until I leveled and switching from light to heavy or heavy to light does a rising attack which messes me up. I also noticed you can grab enemies and throw them straight down and combo them or throw them high where they take extra fall damage and combo them after they bounce.
I think you get it early 20s, it’s Light Light Heavy. Headbutt stuns regular sized enemies…sets up filthy stinky combos when you get the Light Light Light Heavy combo.
I need people to help tackle Insane Mode online! I think I’ve hit the point where doing it single player isn’t going to cut it anymore… (Cyclops’ Fortress)
Do X,X,Y. You can still do the infinite, you just have to do an even number of Xs before using the Y to dribble them back up (otherwise you get that launch). Four Xs seem to work well for me.
X,X, Y turns into a headbutt combo that stuns. Basically the more you level up, the harder it is to do those abuseable combos. Fortunately, new abuseable combos enter the fray in the form of resets
Er, X,X,Y in air. Sorry if that wasn’t clear, but I’m sure all the infinites have to be done in the air
I’m 99 and it still works… the last combo you learn is at Lv32.
WTF am I supposed to do in the Full Moon level?
I get to the top of the cliff and the knights just won’t die. A couple of blue thief/eskimo looking guys showed up that I killed but I can’t seem to progress.
nevermind, i guess there’s just a shitload of enemies to kill
What am I supposed to do with the bombs in the forest? :wonder: Already got the secret in the Tall Grass Field before you posted.
EDIT: So far all the hidden characters all have the same default magic attack of throwing a hail of arrows/weapons. That’s a bit disappointing.
So who’s down for some co-op at like 8 pm et tonight? I just bought this game today and only got to play for an hour or so. Fiending to go home and play it.
The bombs can be dropped in battle, and are used to break open a few walls. You never need to break walls with the bombs to progress through the game, but they’ll reveal weapons or animal orbs.
Remember the pair of eyes watching you when you first encountered the trolls in the Forest? Drop a few bombs in front of it and you’ll be able to get it (it’s an animal orb that regenerates health. Not sure if it’s percentage based or always heals 9 health, but it heals 9 for me :p)
Just keep an eye out for any cracks in walls…
