A message for the community

The old Robin Hood, or “Messiah of the lesser man” attitude has become a “Messiah for the complainer” attitude.

I’m really getting sick of people attempting to justify theirs and others’ inability to become adults.

I’d say it’s just the natural course of things. Even in Japan and America different games have their own different groups of people. From what I’ve seen at least people are more tolerant on the existence of other games.

and to the topic: so long but I read anyway (with highlight). Nothing in that post is new.

so what, obviously know one will care anyway. Despite it being said before this shit till happens too often.

not trolling, that’s my god honest opinion of how he was back then. just as whinny and prone to bitching as the scrubs he wrote about.

Back when I was new, no one made fun of me.

You must be doing something wrong.

My mistake I didn’t realise you were trolling…

Fix your quote, I didn’t say that second part, d3v did.

Oh and fix your title, nobody has “noob hatred”, they dislike lazy vacuous idiots. You need to realise people don’t get bent out of shape when people say “Oh hey I’m a new player”. It’s when a lot of them go on the say “I can’t be bothered to look for all that easy-to-find information myself, so can you all tell me how to do X, Y, and Z?”, for the millionth time. I feel like they would have you execute all the moves for them if they could.

Back when I was new (Under the name “Hadoken King”), everybody made fun of me… but then again, I came here saying shit like, “Spiderman would rape Magneto because Spiderman has an infinite combo”) - you do realize how many things are wrong with that statement, right? Then when I made the tag, “Mixah”, people made fun of me because they thought I was copying “Mixup”'s name…

LOL at the Spiderman quote. XD

I think the worst thing I’ve ever said was that special moves should be made easier. God I was dumb. >_>

Wha? At the risk of sounding dumb, why shouldn’t specials be easier?

(Unless you’re talking about one button specials, which is completely retarded. >_>)

Well if its one thing I have to agree with, it would definitely be that this community is not ready for television. Fuck cussing, we as a group on this forum have a problem with simple things:
[]Making constructive posts/statements without appearing condesending
[
]Actually taking criticism without the need to defend their honor
[]Actually having debates without the need for flaming/insulting
[
]Displaying a mature appearence
Seriously the fighting game community will be streaming for a long time to come at this rate and if we DO somehow make it to television, expect only the intelligent ones to be on as having the community as a whole will consequently get us banned from some network.

On another I agree the srk boards have lots of information for the newbies but at the same time lets not forget the purpose of the board itself for discussion. Dont get me wrong, millions of “How do i beat Yun” threads dont need to be on the front page of every character forum but we dont have to be mean on every thread when telling a newbie not to make a new thread.

My message to the community is this.

Don’t write long ass boring essays telling everyone what we already know just so you can seem smart.

Quit being pricks and acting like everyone should cater to you. Most of you are arrogant, entitled, keyboard warriors who talk shit for no reason and are a reason why we can’t have nice things.

Oh and take a bath for the love of god.

This may seem bias because I hate 95% of you with all of my soul and being but its in a very loving way of course

Nah, I mis-read what someone wrote and thought that they were defending ST’s random input windows. Should’ve made that clearer.

I’d scrub-quote it, but the posr was in the second-to-last HDR vs. ST thread and that got deleted.

mixup wouldnt be completely free to my scrubclops :coffee: <3

Big difference between a newb that sucks and a scrub. Scrubs actually might have a little bit of skill, it is their terrible mindset that earns them the title of scrub. Blaming shit on cheap tactics, bitching about people using top tiers, people who sit behind a computer and watch streams while going “lol this player is ass” while not actually ever playing the games they watch themselves etc.

New people that suck but are willing to actually learn the game without excessive amounts of complaining are fine. These people will actually listen and realize that the reason they are losing is because of themselves and not blame shit on an outside factor. They will try to realize what they did wrong and fix mistakes instead of trying to cope for their losses to make themselves feel better.

Im sure some new players that look for help will definitely come across an elitist dick who will shun them when they are trying to get help. Who the fuck cares though, why waste your time with someone like that. Grow some thicker skin too, not everything in life is spoon fed for you. You come across some negativity just shake it off and move onto the next one. I bet there are way more people in local communities that are willing to help than ones that puff out their chest and act bigger than everyone that isn’t up to par with them.

If you are looking for help on the internet in forums/streams then you have to expect you will get your handful of trolls. A solid handful of the idiots online don’t actually play the games, they would rather sit in the backseat and try and be expert theory fighters who wait for every chance they can for an uneducated player to as a question so they can shit all over them and increase their online fighting game theory IQ +19.

The OP made some solid points. Although the sentiments are echoed frequently throughout the community, these words can’t be said often enough. Every once in a while, somebody has to say this shit again. You know for the newbies so they know a scrub when they see one…even if its in the mirror.

No they’re not, that’s why they’re scrubs.

If they were new, and bad, and just wanted help then they’d be newbies.

Haha I came here saying Akuma in 3rd Strike (a few years after it came out on PS2) can combo into SGS from a cancelled Shoryuken and adamantly argued he could for a few posts with I think J.R.

I just went to lurking and soaked up knowledge after that. Old SRK was raw, you got suspended for duplicate threads back then.

My first infraction was because I said I didn’t like a moderator.

Did you even read the article? Seth had a point in it.

Your average scrub isn’t interested in learning the game because he thinks that he shouldn’t have to. Just look at the average scrub that gets laughed at in the scrubquotes thread. Majority are so full of themselves that you jut know that it’s not worth the effort to convince them otherwise.

Why are you hating on Seth when you’ve merely been pointed to a post he made? There’s a lot of truth in that post regardless of who Seth is/was as a personality. Aside from interviews and other appearances, I know nothing about the guy and who he is. What I do know is that his posts are quoted constantly and there’s good reason for that: they are great for putting newer players into the proper fighting game mentality. They’re main focus is how to win, and even though some could argue they seem like words of a bigot, the truth is that winning does require a certain level of big-headedness (not a word, I know. can’t find a better one).

In any case the more proper definition of “scrub” can be attributed to Sirlin, not Seth.
