ex pinwheel on wake up if his timing is off and doesn’t go back on block after the fireball toss. which most likely he wont because the whole point of the charged fireball is to continue pressure. careful with your ex pin to charge fireball timing. he goes back to block after the fireball toss and you do wake up ex pinwheel…you die.

but other than that…when properly timed you can dash under her tatsu and get out of the corner.
block her hp jump ins.

if he tries jump in mid air tatsu…far standing hp beats all jump in in-air tatsus.

you can stop ex tatsu start up either by standing lp or crouching hk sweep. like any character’s tatsu, its easy to stuff on its start up.
if you get tatsu blockstring…just block don’t mash anything.
was trying some of these fake crossups & stuff last night (ryu ones) and none of em worked, j.rh never connected. seems if I jump then do the close stand lk right when I land then hold uf so I jump as soon as the lk is done, the setup is too fast - are there some frames of leniency there? ie. do not do it as fast as possible?
also vega is on like, none of those lists… did he just not get tested with everybody else?
As far as I know nothing works on Vega. Same applies to Honda and Hawk. The fake crossups vs Ryu whiff on normal block. You actually have to block crossup to get hit.
Try it like this: record ryu to crouchblock and do the setup in the corner. If done correctly it will hit and force a standing state on Ryu. Also there are no frames of leniency.
You have to do it flawless and if you miss the s.LK by just 1 frame it won’t hit. You can always backlink the s.LK though to make it a tiny bit easier (like I do with most of my lows)
why would i go to all this effort to post shit that doesn’t work? really irks me when people try to tell me things don’t work or are wrong when i’ve put circa 500 hours into finding working information.
vega isn’t there because no setups work on him, if you decide to go into training and look for setups let me know and i’ll post it.
if the setups aren’t working for you, you’re doing them wrong. that applies to everyone.
Forward throw,backdash,FSE foward dash, forward jump MP in the corner on Rufus is a fake cross up I think but I don’t see it listed I tried it in training room and it works but try it out in training room first to confirm if this works
Does that go for the rest of the fake crossup setups as well? I’m practicing the Forward Throw -> Empty neutral jump -> whiff st.LK -> j.LK setup on Gen and it should be a fake crossup, but I either get a crossup or a bi-blockable. I can do the same setup with her j.HP and get the fake crossup every time, but I don’t think I’ve made j.LK work for me once yet. Are there any visual cues I can look for to help the timing?
It really is just a practice thing. Practice it until it works and once it starts working practice even more so you can hit it everytime. It will become muscle memory at some point and I guess this is what you want to achieve
Try muting your mic/TV and practive via fightstick sound queues, once you get the “pattern” it will be easier to time. Maybe that will help? Most unblockables dont have a terribly tight timing.
If anyone has still problems with the fwd throw > nj > s.LK setup you can also do fwd throw > nj > s.LP.
I get the fakecrossup more often with the s.LP whiff. Also sometimes the j.HK seems to hit crossup even when I am sure that I did it frame perfect. s.LP has 1 frame more startup which might be a solution for this. I don’t know. Only tested it on Ryu so I don’t know about other characters.
Also if anyone cares:
sweep comboender in corner > s.LK > j.HK / j.MP / j.LK is the same as HK Pinwheel knockdown > nj.HK > cr.MK > j.HK / j.MP / j.LK.
Same buttons work on the same characters.
It might be useful after a post stun combo in a corner into sweep instead of HK pinwheel (unless it kills)
Keep throwing out those mid fireballs. Can’t advance well if a fireball keeps him from doing much. I feel this is a more bait and punish MU then pure zoning or rushdown.
