The thing is, perception isn’t reality.
It really isn’t.
Perhaps though, the agenda isn’t actually that cohesive?

I tend to think its the latter, I have a ‘gift’ for making people really really really mad, somehow.
Who PM’d you? Enquiring minds want to know!
Because people are still defending the indefensible.
You’re preaching to the choir.
And no, in the context of this particular community; it isn’t cohesive. That’s part of what makes Ink’s actions so important.
How about both.
hey guys
k3loggz or k3lloggz (however it’s spelled) i saw what you said about me.
that’s coo bro
I want to know how other people feel about this statement.
Being constantly called a troll kind of bugs me to be honest.
I have very strong opinions, some of which aren’t popular, and love to talk about them in depth…
The pattern on SRK seems to be to have very strong opinions, only want to be told how they’re totally in the right, and to call anyone who doesn’t buckle under a troll, or just complain incessantly about them.
You don’t have to like what I have to say, or my stubbornness, but know that whatever it is is always posted in good faith.
Xesaie you’re really trying hard to portray the situation as if everyone in this thread is defending sexism. That absolutely is not the case. Ignorant people are everywhere, though, and you’ve already outed yourself as one of them. Let’s think this through a bit:
Along with the concerns TMG raised about your credibility, do you really think you’re going to accomplish a goal of, say, getting people in this thread to admit fault for something they didn’t do themselves? Or are you just trying to feel aggrieved that no one wants to engage in a discussion tailored to your personal demands? It seems like you’re setting out to prove a point, then cry foul when people don’t agree with your exact take on the situation. Yes, sexism is awful and people should face social consequences for it. The yellow journalism of gaming blogs is not something anyone should capitulate to, though. A lot of those people are the worst kind of hacks and enable sexism and other shitty attitudes in their own small ways, fyi.
You do realize that it’s only made an issue on SRK now because of sponsorship dollars, right? That’s my cynicism talking, but I think it’s a pretty safe inference given the history people I know have had discussing this sexism with the peanut gallery here.
That’s not just SRK, it’s like that anywhere unless people think you’re “somebody” then they will either viciously attack you, or defend you to the death. lol
I say stick to your guns, but pick your battles, if you argue every statement people will just be irritated with you and ignore your message all together. Hell you were better off making a new thread saying your piece, let people argue there while you walk away, which I was gonna do but I got way to lazy.
And if you’re a somebody they do neither?
Considering what She went through, I am not surpised. It’s in her right not to be accept what Aris did in that show.
As long as Aris is going to change his character, and becoming a better person…he will be fine. It’s not like he commited the worst crime ever, It will be a learning experience for him. It’s just shame this aspect of him will destroy his site reputation…
These conversations are fucking going no where. Its the internet someone will always disagree…
Until the the drama thread gets locked or come to a universal understanding which 90% of the time doesn’t happen especially revolving around these conflicts which have already at least out of this thread been finalized or settled…
And Xesaie, I see you do this shit all the time. There times especially on the internet were many can argue there insight on a conflict; your just gonna have to agree to disagree & leave it B.
I dont stop by here much because well i’m not that good at these games past playing em casual but the recent attack has caught my attention.
I just dont think the media see’s were fighting games have come from which is the arcade. what did you use to do at the arcade? ya talk shit like many of these commentators do which makes it both fun to watcha nd takes me back to the arcade days. also well i hate a lot of the MLG coverage because it’s jsut boring,t hey try to make it like you’re watching baseball or something when it’s the shit talk on xbox live that makes a lot of the game fun lol.
I have to disagree, playing with actual competitors/friends and learning how to beat one another growing as a person is fun, sometimes smack talk is a little fun side event, conversely stroking your ego by beating or losing to people online and talking shit is for 14 yearolds.
If you don’t like talking about it why do you keep coming back to the thread? Trying to kill discussions ain’t healthy, even if no one will agree to the same thing people read these threads and some of them it helps them form their own opinions.
Why? We’re not talking about other people. We’re talking about one person. This whole situation has been about one person.
You talk about knowing where to draw the line when it comes to trash talk and I’m making a point that the line is subjective. I could go as far as to take offense at your reply; curious of what other people think of my statement in an attempt to belittle it. Racist remarks hardly bother me anymore but implications of an inferior mind tick me off to no end. You can’t determine what should or shouldn’t offend a person, especially not based on what other people think. Either deal with all forms of trash talk or get rid of it entirely.
Ever watch The Sandlot? There was a scene when the neighborhood kids got into beef with the pro youth players. They were bashing each others family members and using all kinds of vulgar language. The words just rolled off on each other until the sandlot kid implied that the pro youth player “played ball like a girl.” That was the one statement that struck a nerve, and it wasn’t a curse word.
If you aren’t sensitive about any of those things, what race, skin color, gender, religion, sexuality, and weight are you?
Also why do implications of an inferior mind tick you off? Do you hear it a lot or something?
Im black and sometimes I even forget Im black. That should be an indicator of how little my skin color matters to me, but ofc it may matter to someone else. So like M.d said, “the line” is subjective.
Trying to point out he doesn’t really stand out right?
None of that shit matters to me because none of that shit matter should matter to anyone. I aim to become the change I want to see, a person who doesn’t give a fuck about anything other than your character.
A whole load of victim blaming here.
If you think what Aris did is in anyway acceptable, YOU are part of the problem.
Xesaie is not a goddamn troll, just because she/he has differing opinions on the matter and the fact that some of you rush headfirst to label her/him as one is very telling.
Its only insulting when you find it offensive.
