That’s why I picked up Geese, Rock, Kyo, Terry, Ken. I’ll be dead before I use Blanka/Sagat/You get the point. It makes you feel good when you wipe the floor with a top-tier team with your mid-tier team. Learn to use Dan or something.
Chun li is there to tame sagat…you should be happy she’s in the game
The funny thing about this dude’s whining is, CvS2 isn’t even that bad for “top tier whoring”. You actually have to have some skill to play the top tiers in this game. And mid/low tier chars are used all the fucking time. Ryu is one of the shittiest chars in the game. Some dude in Japan got 3rd w/ his ass on the team. Sure there’s going to be Sagat or Blanka on most teams, but overall, most teams have a pretty good variety. Now if your ass is losing because you chose to use P groove Ryo, King, Terry… maybe you need to assess your situation a bit more and pick better characters. But generally almost every character outside of a select few shitty ones has enough gimmicks to win. The funny thing is, those mindless top tiers, even if you do start using them, you aren’t going to win much more vs good players, because you actually have to know how to use them against good players.

I knew a guy who played king of fighters games a bit, and on the dreamcast would change the controller options around on cvs2 and take out the strong punch and forward kick and put the roundhouse and fierce where those used to be so it was jabs and fierce and low and roundhouse on the four main buttons, never used the shoulder buttons at all.
and would pick characters who had major whoring special move factor to them like eagle, kyo, benimaru, iori etc.
he could use the special moves to a good degree and win the game just because those characters have good priority and damage.
everything had to be that way for him in all games. in sports games he would maximize 3 point shooting and run speed all the way and make a team that could run around everybody and score 3 point shots 95% of the time and get like 250 points per game.
Now that i have gotten into fighting games since then. i really despise that kindof mentality. i would not be able to show him up at the game since i am no longer friends with that pathological lying bastard. but if i did, im sure it would just push him into becoming a whore special move player who knew the rest of the game too.
there is such a thing as being a gimmick using player and being smart at the same time. i find that these people just only adopt these methods of playing because noone can outskill the gimmick and take away their pride. im sure if someone had come along and upstaged this guy with real diverse gameplay he wouldve moved on to learn the game and became even better, became a gimmick move whoring player who also knew the ins and outs.
the scene isnt made up of people like that. the new players that are out there, use gimmicks out of not knowing anything else. there are only a few newbs out there who power game and will power game no matter how good they are and are obnoxious people underneath it all.
theres a difference between a new player who uses god tier gimmicks because he/she is unfamiliar and clumsy with other character moves, and those who think that the gimmicks they only use are the only important part of the game worth knowing about. attitudes of people are really the most annoying thing ive figured out from typing this post.
Sagat is wack and Blanka is definitely TRASH!! Bottom line.

The only ground move Chun-li has (outside of ranged Kikokens and RC SBK) that doesn’t totally get owned by Sagat’s crouching fierce is her standing jab. Don’t say her standing strong either as she’s never going to get into range to use that move as long as Sagat keeps tagging her with stand short. Everything else she can go for whenever the match is still even is a total guess and isn’t going to work against good players. Sure, dash, RC legs, super jump LK, or random roll in combo destroys mediocre players. Try that against the experienced players and see what happens though. Sagat simply has better ground tools (plus far s.MK) to work with IMO, and to say that Chun tames him is something I don’t agree with.

I’ve played you before… and I’ve seen you play in tournaments… none of which can be considered impressive that I need to drive 50 miles for. You are acting like you are like top flight player making a commentary. You are just random dude #5432432432 crying about a couple characters you can’t beat with probably your P groove Ryo.

You’re not impressive either even with your top tier team. You sure picked the right name for yourself because you play straight up cheesy my man. When you try to play with Geese, Joe, Ryu and Ken (non-top-tiers) on P-Groove that’s when you holla at me. And if I’m making a commentary so what I have that freedom because what I say is the truth.

I’m probably forgetting a lot of characters, but all of these characters are regularly used by top level players in tournaments and win regularly. So stop bitching, this is way more characters that are useable than any other game. Marvel, you have 4 characters and a few assists, 3s in america at least is full of yun/ken/chun scrubs and even if everyone was used thats still less characters than i’ve listed. SOOOOOO, stop being angry that you aren’t good enough to make your favorite character work well… If you were better at the game you wouldn’t have to bitch about this so much. someone close this thread
