I wouldn’t say it’s impossible, I actually measured the stick and it’s at 26mm, but I know I could get it down to 24mm by I using a metal cutting blade on the bottom to give it more clearance. Without the sanwa mounting plate the stick sits in a metal top panel that’s around 1/4in. thick when you count the thick laminated graphic + lexan, now with the sanwa plate added, which is almost 2mm thick, that would make it around 24mm, the trick is in the bottom of the case. The bottom is a beveled metal panel, this actually gives me a little more room to work with. As for wavedashing, I can wavedash on that stik pretty easily, but I wouldn’t really see it being any easier for me personally if it was lower, I’m just used to it. Technically, I would say that hand size could come into play as far as the stik height being an issue. I have some friends who just can’t use sanwa sticks, regardless of the height because they feel too small, even if the joystick was 30mm high. I’m trying to work on a solution for this, it’s currently my ‘nba’ project 
Honestly, I get where you guys are coming from as far as the proper mount height in official japanese cabinets, but to me that’s the beauty of a custom stick. The fact that it’s tailored to your own individual tastes rather being confined within specific guidelines. I guess you could also argue that the button layout is not ‘official’ but then I prefer my layout to the official one too. Anyway, good stuff, I like getting into discussions like this, makes things more interesting. Also I do enjoy hearing player feedback as well, feel free to keep it coming, I don’t want anyone to feel like I’m offended or anything like that, I just originally planned on the ‘RaVenZ’ being for me, but if any of my customers ever specifically tell me that they want a certain layout or mount height, etc. then that’s never a problem. In fact, I prefer when my customers are as detailed as possible because in the end they’re the ones that’ll be playing on it.
In a true japanese cabinet is the stick lower or highter then the middle of the first 2 buttons?
Any plans on making Sanwa sticks for the Xbox 360, especially one with the headset jack on the base of the stick (similar to the SFAC stick)?
like it really hasn’t been said a million times, your sticks are BEAUTIFUL, easily worth top dollar if you sell them. i would LOVE to own one of your sticks someday, keep up the good work. hands down the best stick maker around.
