Honda has some new weird properties on his fierce and EX Sumo Head-butts. Namely, he got some sort of invincibility on certain earlier frames so that he can easily fly through your Yoga Fires. This works against Dhalsim only.

If the Honda player knows this he can punish you full screen for tossing Jab yoga fires. He’ll be rewarded with a knockdown and tons of damage.

In other words, tossing full screen yoga fires for zoning nilly-willy will get you killed against Honda. Best advice here is: mix up several flavors of Yoga Fire to throw his timing off.

Be very careful when using Yoga Sniper in this matchup. If Honda has EX he can punish you ON HIT with EX sumo head-butt. Also, depending on spacing, he can punish YS on block with his fierce SH.

I really like U2 in this match. It can punish blocked fierce headbutts. It can also punish sumo splash quite easily. You can backdash on reaction, then do a TK U2 and grab Honda on his recovery frames as soon as he hits the ground.*

In Vanilla this matchup was 6-4 in Sim’s favor. I don’t think that’s the case anymore. It’s probably 5-5 now.

  • his dash punches can be focused except for the turn punch and the diagonal upwards punching one (dashing low uppercut).
    Dash punches can also be cancelled into super, so don’t focus at all if Rog has full meter.

Keeping Rufus out is not easy. But EX yoga blast is a life-saver against Rufus. I would not bother crouch teching unless you are absolutely sure you can get away, because if he dive kicks when you try to crouch tech, you will face pretty big consequences. Better to eat a throw than a half health combo. Let him push himself back after blocking tornado and look for signs on when he is going to start dive kicking again. I’m pretty sure that EX blast will in the worse case scenario trade if you can catch him in the middle of his jump or flat out beat it if he is quite up close to you in the air. Then you can proceed to push him back with pokes for as long as you can.
