^ Sunny confirmed!

Snake Eyes is on his way!

FULL HOUSE TONIGHT! There’s 50+ people here for Super Smash Brothers Brawl qualifiers for MLG. Good vibe, plenty of space, and state-of-the-art air conditioning is AWESOME!

SSF4AE2012 tourney will start at 6:00 pm!

Well, that was fun. Kinda wished I had a set with CMD Jessie’s Sim before I left. Next time I’ll try getting there early. Thanks for waiting for me Joon.

ggs to Waffleboy and Vicious. Nice Gief, and Yun.

^ No problem Kane! LMK if you’re on your way, we’ll hold your match the latest possible.

Salty about my performance last night. I will never use silent buttons in tournaments again. Headsets/sound helps a lot with my reaction time though : )

P.S. Unfortunately Snake Eyes wasn’t able to attend yesterday, but he said he’ll try to make it next time.

And this applies to anybody that attends our tournament! Please let me or Joon know before the tournament starts.

We had 70+ people yesterday. Thank you everyone for playing with us.

Thank you for your patience! We now have 2 head-to-head set ups at UGC! Feel free to mash (Joon) all you want!

  • NO MORE LISTENING TO OPPONENT’S BUTTONS/MASHING!

  • NO MORE FAKE BUTTONS/MASHING/TATSU CROSS UP!

*** PURE MIND GAMES: YOU vs THE OPPONENT. JAPANESE STYLE!

jayare1986.ver2012, sorry for the delay. Check out the picture of our head-to-head set up above this post!

What do you think? : )

Why no more silent buttons

That’s a sick set up

I’m too used to playing on regular Sanwa buttons. The silent buttons are really sensitive, so hitting the buttons as hard as you would on Sanwa buttons would get you different input (no P-link). It’s an easy adjustment, but under pressure in tournaments, humans tend to revert back to their habits/impulse. I guess my pressure-threshold isn’t high but I’m just going to avoid the whole thing lol. UGC has head-to-head set ups now so we don’t need silent buttons anyways!

Also, since LP is the most commonly pressed buttons, sometimes the silent button on the LP would get “soggy” and stop registering inputs.

That’s right Joon, head to head combat at its finest. This Saturday should be really fun! I’m looking forward to it

YES! That is so awesome- It brings tears to my eyes. That’s how much this means to me. This is as close as we’re going to get to how it was like back in the arcade scene. Thank you so much Roy.

Should be in around 2 today, maybe a little earlier.

I’ll be there around 3pm!

We finally got a hold of the other SSF4AE2012 players from Family Fun Arcade yesterday!

Good times. It was nice seeing everyone there again : )

We’ve only heard positive reviews/feedbacks on our head-to-head set up yesterday!

Thank you everyone for playing on them : )

I’ve heard some interesting, positive feedback as well. A lot of people told me they liked the head-to-head set up because they had more room to themselves when they play.

Otto told me that’s why he liked playing at arcades/arcade cabinet. Not necessarily because he didn’t want his opponent to listen to what he was doing.

Emerson, 2nd place winner of last Saturday’s SSF4AE2012 tourney, told me that he liked playing at Family Fun Arcade because it doesn’t get crowded and he doesn’t have to be “self-conscious of your (his) body movement,” which I’m sure it hinders his gameplay.

I didn’t even realize that until they pointed that out. Not only does head-to-head set ups make SF4 into pure mind games, it also provides players a more comfortable environment.

Head-to-head is truly key to high level play.

Oh, and AF told me he liked it because there was more room to watch the matches.
