So are these games being run at HBB or Netwerx for the charity tournament?
Whats the difference between tournament points and league points? What do they get you?

Being that this is a charity event, I’m guessing it’s only for tourney points, Jeff? No actual cash pot?
tober- Yea i have to find out from you guys whats wrong with the cabs as I will get them fixed.
PSX- Tournament points go towards the season ending final competition. The people with the highest totals will participate in a grand prix. League points are for special consideration we will give out awards and prizes for people who go above and beyond for the community as well as the league, For more info check our forums. And this is event is at Hawaiian Brians.
Ducky- We are trying to put together prize packs, and some cash will be available. Probably as much as in a normal tourney maybe not we have to work out that logistic. We may be selling T-shirts and Decals with the league logo to help offset some costs, and mybe put some money in a pot. That would be most likely if people play in more than one tourney. But with the advertising we have. (KCCN, KHNL) we should see some unusual players lol.
Mr. Wizard was kind enough to give us SRK’s blessing and hes sending me some EVO sets to give out as prizes.
I have met a few of you now on GGPO and would like to get over there, just for fun and to go to some decent bars too. Summer is difficult for me to get away from work, but maybe I’ll try to hit you guys up fall or winter.
We’ll see how it goes, good to play some other Hawaii heads on GGPO anyways.
hey b33r good to see you in the thread!! hope work is going well and we would always be glad to have you over here. I been trying out 2dfighter lately. 3s works better on there for me. Its also got alot of old school games. Xmen COTA, Jojo, alpha 1, just to name a few, there are alot of games on it. lol.
I will have to jump back on GGPO so you can whoop me with your honda lol
That’s lame, but kind of ok since it seemed that nobody wanted to use them for tourney use anyway.
yeah it is lame, and I just got word from VG addict they were gonna give us some monitors and 360s to run COD4 3v3 but there isnt any sound. And to the best of my knowledge you need to HEAR the battlefield…uhg, this is just not making me happy. See what not being selfish and doing something for the community gets you?? LOL
Looks like COD4 will most likey still be 2v2. We will discuss that more tomora.
I prefer not to loan out my super gun for the simple reason there not capable of using any mas stick. They need to be pre wired for the super gun. I don’t feel comfortable letting everyone use my only 2 sticks and with the wear and tears that comes with it. I only use it for casual games amongst friends etc and for Killer Instinct 1.
If anyone is interested in purchasing one mas sells them now for only $299.99 + 49 per 360.
well so long super turbo. Good thing the flyer wasnt distributed. Edited post
use dreamcast version of st.
do you think thats good enough? Well I guess it will have to be.

dc version is being used at evo. please have converters ready for people with ps2 sticks (majority). i don’t know which converters are good or bad. look around the forum and ask a few people. i’m sure people know.
Uh so i have to get converters? i dont know about that, especially with it being a one time shot. That would have to be something the community loans for the tourney.
You also want to get the save file that unlocks the proper rom set for ST on DC. Standard dc version without the save file is messed up like the other ports. The rom set lets you choose different versions. One of which is rather close to the arcade.
you mean the dipswitch menu unlocked? which date is the best?
Yes dipswitched unlocked after you beat the game with all chars + original versions for a total of 33.
If I remember correctly the rom set is 940223.
Well here are some issues that you could run into…
You mentioned advertising the tournament , what do you do for all the non srk gamers that come down and decide they might want to enter ST cause they remember playing that game. I doubt they will have sticks or convertors. Also which convertor will you use? I would suggest if you do plan to use convertors for PS2 to DC to read up on them. Some convertors have a input lag. Others have certain buttons disabled, etc.
A few of your tournament times are really close together and I read the “1 game rule”. I was at evo and I can say first hand 1 game 3s was announced not to many players were happy about that. 1 game ST is even worse. I think the only fighter where 1 game is possible would be CVS2.
I would also have some detailed rules for each game. I don’t see that Akuma is banned in ST. You be surprised how much old school people don’t know this and will use Akuma in the arcade if given the chance. Same with MVC2/3s/CVS2 its better to cover your bases then leave them open.
Yes it is that part is done
Innovation converters are the best apparently. But they are also expensive and hard to find. I have one stick. I may purchase another. DJB may help me with a couple more sticks. I cant justify spending money on converters for a dying system and with ST HD out in a couple months.
Tournaments are close together “due to time constraints” we dont have time for a 32 man double elimination tourney. Its standard single elimination 2/3 until finals 4/7. The 1 game is for PRELIMINARIES if we get over 32 people. If you sign up early the first 16 are garunteed a spot and dont have to fight for it.
3.This has been fixed, barring what isnt allowed in MVC2. what is that?
