So I have an announcement for a SSF4 tournament that will be happening at PC Gamerz in Kaneohe. Here are the details -

We’re trying to make this a venue for not only great up and coming tournaments but even for casual play. Let’s try to make it out there. This is on a Friday and I encourage everyone that plays SSF4 competitively to come out and support the scene.

Sid: Thanks for hosting lastnight and taking an absolute scrub like me under your wing. I learned a ton from you, and I’ll continue to implement that knowledge. I felt like such a noob not knowing what a “meaty” attack was, or what an “option select” was. Thanks for explaining them to me without making me feel like a complete tard (The way most hardcore gamers shun new scrubs).
Jamgief: Thanks for all the heads up knowledge, and teaching me a lot of sweet setups and “wow moments” with Zangief. Its great having an experienced player who mains the same character as you that you can learn from. Hopefully I can come up with some shenanigens that I can share with you someday.
Eric: Abel is dope, I’m going to read up on his forum and learn as much as I can. I really hope that was you in the white RX-8 on the freeway…haha. Motorcycles are dope! P.S: I currently love you more than Wang because you taught me a shitload lastnight and Wang didn’t show up…
Everyone Else: (Throwdown, Fred, Blacks, Wil, Gavin, Ian, Jesus, Gomi, etc): You guys all have mad skills. What I learned most of all lastnight, is that I have a lot to learn. I know I’m an absolute scrub right now, but I promise I’ll study up and practice so in turn I can help strengthen your skills like you have helped me with mine.
Already looking forward to the next session.

not gonna lie, it was pretty awkward being there yesterday. the only reason we went was because my friend got a fortune cookie saying “its a good day to be with your friends.” but i had fun! also, is there a difference between the ps3 and 360 versions? i couldnt land my links at all D:.
Yeah rick that was me. I think the Abel forums are actually decent on here. If you want to see some youtube matches of some players, I think you should look up FYC Ryder or Ryder and Shiro. Juicebox Abel is ok, but I don’t really like his playstyle.
Good Pokes: Standing MP (stuffs shit), Standing Far RH (range attack slow though), Sweep (Far and has means to get in after knockdown with roll. Don’t use against akuma when he has demon because if you sweep to roll, sweep to wheel, or jsut sweep without cancel, demon will punish it), F+MK (no explanation required), cr.mk
Good Meaties: Cr. mp, F+MK, Close RH (Is weird)
Tick setups to tornado throw: Cr. short ; cr. short, cr. jab; meaty cr.mp ; F+MK
Anti Air: Cr.MK (falling towards upper body to feet), EX falling Sky (falling towards face), Close FP (Above head)
Tidbit on money combo (F+MK to ultra combo) : If opponent is standing you can do F+MK, FP xx Rekka, FADC, Cr.FP, Soulless.
If opponent is crouching or standing you can do F+MK, MP xx Rekka, FADC, Cr.FP, Soulless.
All this stuff works in Vanilla SF4 too, so if you don’t have SSF4 yet you can still practice in Vanilla.

It’s always awkward the first time, you guys should come out again. Were you guys the Rufus and Balrog players? I didn’t get to mention it while we were playing, but balrog whiffs the cr. short after the overhead rush punch on some characters. If so, you replace the short with cr. mp.

Yep, it’s in kaneohe. The location is pretty huge and has tons of equipment. The owner is super cool and is really giving our scene the break it needs. I really encourage everyone to participate in this upcoming tourny. He is offering his location to us, and really wants pc gamers to be the fighting genre hotspot for tourneys/casuals. The only thing James forgot to mention was that outside food and drink were not allowed, but he sells refreshments/snacks and gets a really good deal on pizza from bostons. If anyone needs a ride lemme know, I’m already taking gomi and Josh so I got room for three more.
