Tragic did a stream yesterday and showed some interesting stuff with Thor. He put up a few short vids of Sentinel, Thor, and Dante on his YT channel.
Game does look real fast though. Lots of hype going through the MVC2 community over this game. Game has shown a lot of progress from the time me and blacksmaru tried it out at EVO last year.
yea, the changes they made are looking good since the last time we sampled it, im trying to keep an open mind, i mean people complained about the controls from mvc2 not being like mvc1 when it came out so who knows, this might be time for some new 2011 shit…

Just got to sample MvC3 and this is pretty true (for now). You can get caught easily if you whiff a light attack, so basically if you’re playing against a masher/jammer, you will get blown up if you’re pressing buttons. The supers are pretty much instant so if you’re doing anything other than blocking, most (fast) supers will catch you.
Advanced Guard a.k.a. Push Block reducing chip damage from supers, so it’s pretty ideal to mash that, in my opinion.
If anyone is interested in C.Viper, she can SJC. I was able to SJC her two-hit launcher on the first hit into an immediate light attack in the air and then dash down after. The potential for combos is great with her. She has her feints, and for some reason you can feint the thunder knuckle even after it hits up close. I guess it’s more like an FADC in SSF4 terms.
Anyway, this is just my day 1 results. Hopefully with time things will change.
Also, fuck Amaterasu and Deadpool they are annoying as shit! :sad:
Ryu has no air dash. :sad:
Storm and Magneto are still fun. Sentinel is a whole different character. Modok is faster than Sentinel, lol.
Viper has a lot of potential and is a reset machine. Chun, Wesker, and Dante are good for now.
Ppl can just throw out a raw super while you’re in their face and it will connect if you’re pressing buttons. Looks like it has start up due to the animation being SF4-ish but they seem instant.
X-23 seems solid despite no air dash. I’m liking Zero a lot.
Doom’s rocks assist is too fast. Not as slow and a threat like in MvC2 but can still be effective.
Deadpool’s counter super also beats out supers that aren’t grabs or projectiles.
Triangle jumps are a little different. Also timing for wave dashes are different.
Not liking the OTG to super after a air combo.
Phoenix dies way too quick.
Haven’t tried X-Factor yet. I got used to the button layout after 6-7 games. Assists aren’t instant like in MvC2.
After a couple of hours with the game, I like it a lot. Like in MvC2, the play style will eventually evolve.

hot damn sentinel is still too good! lol the game feels funky tho, cant do that many air combos cuz they seem to have a weird rhythm to it, or maybe its just me… i <3 ameterasu

Controls are a little strange and took a little getting used to. Dante is the scrub character of the hour, I’m banging out some massive combos and skeeting all over this training mode. His combos are pretty brain dead so I predict you will see a lot of Dante. Magneto triangle jump has to be done really high. Square jumping seems better since his air to ground angles aren’t as good. He doesn’t feel the same anymore, but I’m just briefly fucking around in training mode so far. Ryu feels like he does in every versus game. Easy character but low tiered. Chun assist is good and you can mash light attack into legs and still launch from it, at least in corner. Captain America moves kinda slow, but his shield slash hits on the way back so you can do some funky juggles with that. Still going through the roster.
Might actually get back into it for this shit… feels a lot better to me than SF4 ever did.
GET HYPE, STEP THAT GAME UP! Gotta take advantage of this extra play time so I don’t get molested by scrubs on day one after not playing Street Fighter for over a year. Flex that swagga and make that ass look bad like stretch marks, Ducky is back in it. Where all you other Blunt niggas at?!?!?!?!
