I go play @ VC (Ventura College) they have 3S and MvC2 cabinets. I’m mainly a 3S player though.
If anyone wants to go, and get some practice in, just LMK, it’s like 3 of us that play there on the daily.
BTW, we should really get some local tournies/play nights poppin’ off. Ever since Electric Ave. died, it feels like the scene died with it. I rarely come across people who are really into SF and fighting games in general.
PS1:
marvel vs capcom
xmen vs Street fighter
marvel vs street fighter
rival schools
primal rage
gundam battle assault 1 and 2
alpha 3
mortal kombat trilogy
cvs pro
xmen children of the atom
Ventura represent. I go to Ventura College and play in the arcade there sometimes, also go to Denjin often. For reference, the Ventura College arcade is pretty decent – noteworthy fighting games it has are 3s, MvC2, Soul Calibur II, Tekken Tag Team Tourney, and KOF98. On 360deg American sticks though… while they are in good condition i fail at corners on those sometimes =/
Weekday afternoons have pretty good competition for 3s (people know know combos, parries, mixup, and footsies)
My main game is currently BlazBlue. I also play Guilty Gear and Melty Blood.
Casually, I play 3s/SF4.
I’m going to UCSB starting near the end of June. Anyone in the Santa Barbara/Goleta areas that want to play BlazBlue console once it comes out?
I’m from the 818 but visiting Camarillo. 3s GGXXAC, 4s(yeah, I said that), Blazblue, whatever. I can learn it and play it in a matter of hours.
Anyone have sticks/know where to get some built locally?
-K7
I have some sticks – 2x 360 sticks, 1x ps2 stick, 1x currently-being-built 360+ps2 stick. While i do build sticks for myself, I wouldn’t trust my craftsmanship enough to sell them to other people. What system are you looking to get a stick for? If it’s 360/ps3 I’d recommend tracking down a SF4 SE stick and throwing Sanwa parts in it. I just saw one for those at the Oxnard Fry’s for $67 on Wednesday.
Regarding Marvel Players are Ventura College, there aren’t many good players who know infinites, but some players do play it in the same time frame that 3s is played – weekday mornings->afternoons
I see you everywhere itching for that Marvel comp!
When I use to live in SB (Goleta, actually) the arcade in the bowling alley off Calle Real, (now known as Zodo’s :arazz:) use to have REALLY good MvC2 players and 3s players.
Ever since management switched to Zodo’s though, they took out ALL the fighting games.
Awwwwww man! Let me know the next time you guys are there! I went 3 times last week and there wasn’t anyone playing 3s, so it was just me and my buddy sparring.
There was like 5 chicks playing that Area 51 shit though
There’s REALLY good comp for MvC2 @ Golf-N-Stuff…lots of people line up and play on Fridays from like 6-1am. Or so i’ve been told, I’ve only gone 1 time like last month and there was lots of people and good players, i’m terrible at the game so that’s why I don’t really go.
Don’t forget about the local Tournament we’re throwing next weekend, Saturday May 23rd!!!
putting it down for San Luis Obispo, we have a large crew here (about 10 skilled players) we mainly play ssf4 on 360 but we do have dreamcast set ups. we get together at least once a week. we do travel to play so if theres anything coming up plz pm me and ill do the same.
