I noticed it in a kind of spectacular fashion at one point!
I was chasing down a runaway Steve who had the life lead with Zangief, and was using the Green Hand to cover distance. He got the bright idea to time his Super to hit me while I was doing the Green Hand, which struck me as a really smart move… until the Green Hand absorbed the little projectile the Super fires to start its animation and placed me right in his face. Oops!
Too bad I was caught just as off-guard by it as he was, and didn’t get the punish I should have!
I just dont like the game even no Dan is cherry on top, Does anyone know if we will see Dan in any upcoming comics, those were fund to read and even goes into his backstory.

Nice one PKSkyler, showing up on The Online Warrior for the second time
No idea why I never thought of this before, but use lp dragon punch to end combos instead of hp. Less damage? Yes, 110 to 140. But you get a noticeably better pressure situation out of it. I’ve always preferred ending combos in hk danku rather than dp if I can because hk danku is much better for positioning after the combo, but on some characters you just can’t do close hk close mp xx danku, so I’ve been doing either cr hp xx hk danku for positioning or close hk, cr mp xx dragon punch for damage. Well, if I end with lp dp, I recover 21 frames faster (!) than if I do hp dp, which means that I still get a good look post combo while doing almost 40 more damage and 60 more stun than with cr hp xx hk danku. Akumas have been picking between lp or hp/ex dp depending on if they want setups or damage/stun for years, and I knew that, I just never thought to apply it to my own dude for some reason heh.

I’ve been working on my Dan more lately, and I’ve been getting frustrated with his wakeup game. I’m a Chun main, and an '09-er at that (and as a result of both points, inexperienced with DPs in general), so pardon how newbie this question is.
What DP does everyone use on wakeup? DP FADC is a great tool, especially for Dan because of how quickly he can gain meter. However, I find that, a lot of the time, when I do :lp: DP FADC on wakeup, the DP gets stuffed outright; “Reversal” shows up for me and everything, so it’s not like I’m doing the move wrong. Am I supposed to be using :mp: or even :hp: DP for wakeup? I believe that for Ryu and Ken :mp: DP is the way to go, since it has the most invincible frames (this may also be inaccurate). So, what DP is best for wakeup?
The LP Koryuken is exactly your problem. Its invincibility wears off before the attack becomes active, so against most meaty attacks it will lose out. It can beat some lows because it retains lower body invincibility, but it’s still subpar, especially if you’re planning to FADC.
Reversal uppercuts by Dan should always be HP. The LP will be stuffed due to subpar invincibility. MP and HP have the same invincibility, so if you’re going to FADC (or just risk it all anyway) you might as well take the option that gives the most damage.
Only use the EX DP as a reversal when you absolutely need to avoid chip damage, or on the other end when you just need to chip your opponent a little bit but expect them to wake up with an invincible move to try to prevent that. EX Koryuken has a lot of invincibility, the same as Ryu and Akuma’s own EX DPs and more than enough to beat out Ken’s, Guile’s, Sagat’s, Cammy’s and many others. It will lose to Seth’s EX DP though, and actually take extra hits from Seth in the process, so be careful of him! Not that you should be trying to go EX on EX against Seth due to his teleport anyway.

Thanks Mao. I knew that EX DP was fully invincible up to the peak (and it’s always funny when someone tries to chip you on your wakeup with an ultra and you can EX DP through it to kill them), but it seems like a “duh”, forehead-smack moment to not realize that if I’m going to FADC that I might as well use HP anyway X_X
counter hit st.mp, st.mp, cr.mp, gadou fadc st.mp HP koryu. Felt great to land this in tourney.
Wait what? You get two st.MP off of CH?
Yes, I did it! It was a meaty, mind you, on crouching Vega(Claw)
Anyone entering evo with Dan?
I was, but after last night’s confusing performance at Thursday Night Throwdown (the archive will show me getting blown up by a Ryu player on stream) I’m reconsidering my choice to play fighting games.
If anything, I may learn another character.
WRONG!
I actually thought you played pretty well, not like you were totally blown up. One thing I noticed was that you did quite many "cr.LK > walk > throw"s, and I think you would benefit by replacing some of those throws with cl.MP or cl.HK to make use of some frame traps.
A shame about the failed U1 on that fireball there.
I had a response to this and I quickly realized that whatever issue I may have is easily explained with “Play more with good players.” >__> fuck
Playing more with good players is indeed the solution to many problems! I highly recommend it.
Getting a streaming setup going guys. Got a Blackmagic, some blisteringly fast HDDs, and a mammoth of a PC. It’s going to be good, so long as I can figure out how to get this Blackmagic feed to stop flickering to black. -_-;
