That way I can get brackets and registration done beforehand, which is usually the biggest preventable time-suck of any event.

Renegade…I won’t be able to drive out till after 1. If I come by around 3 is there any way you’d be able to fit me in or would it be too late? I haven’t registered or anything for that reason. If not I’ll probably still come by just to play games.
What’s the point? Well, I dunno. Do you enjoy waiting in lines and waiting for a tournament to start?
I mean, it’s the most annoying and stressful part of the tourney. At Virginia Mid Atlantic Championships in 2005, 100 people showed within 30 minutes of the tournament start time. No way am I gonna start anything on time in that situation.
There’s a chance, depending on how big the turnout is. I’ll save you a spot, and if you get there on time, bonus.

yes but not everyone is going to do this so you won’t be able to make brackets… and even if you did you know people would’t show up on time, then you hear the argument that they payed blahblahblah why did you dq me blahblahblah…
unless it was mandatory and everyone had to do it… i don’t see this being a good idea…
I say it’s better than not doing it. The people who pay will already be accounted in the bracket and it’ll be that much less work. It’s just an incentive to at least get some of the people out of the way before the day of the tourney. If I’m predicting this correctly he will be able to start a bracket for the people who are already signed up and everyone else would be walk ins and then he’ll just have to account for the walk ins as they come like a normal tourney. If I were to ever run a tourney I’d like to also be able to account for some people before the tourney actually starts.

I live in Potomac, I could possibly hook you up with a ride (if you can pitch in for gas, even better!).
But it’s still up in the air if I’m going to be able to go, so don’t count me as your first option.

My ride just ducked out on me because of some real-life stuff so can someone help me and my friend andrew out? He had some dual-mod jobs he HAD to come for. We can come by any metro or whatever in the area, someone help me out…
