Joey, somebody…close this garbage.
$50 aint shit. If thats a lot of money to you, then traveling to Vegas in the first place isnt something you should be doing.

Spectating is free anyway, plus there are countless of BYOC stations all around the venue every year so as long as you show up with a stick (if that) you will be able to play some quality games. $50 goes to you wanting to play against the best of the best, it’s not every tournament that you are pretty much guaranteed to play against a couple of killers in your pool.
I got raped by one of the wolfe brothers in sf4 and played against quality hdr heads and almost made it to my finals in my pool the year I entered. I think I went 4-4 that year, time of my life, and I suck. $50 well spent.
Is the $10 early bird discount included? I was filling out the form and it still charged $50.
If you’re mad now, wait until you pay $50 for two slices of pizza. Vegas is not cheap.
I’m still competing, but I swore I heard/saw that the discount wasn’t gonna bump up to $50 until may.
The $50 is the early bird special this year.
Also remember this is vegas… aint nothing free there. Expect to pay $20 per day for basic wifi service. Expect to pay $25+ for each meal. Not to mention $10 taxis.
Oh yeah and July is the peak season for Vegas so be prepared to pay peak prices.
Were it some tiny scale tournament I’d be complaining like hell. But it’s a once a year HUGE event. I mean, it’s the world finals.
My main concern is my plane ticket since I’m flying from the UK haha! $50 is fuck all compared to that.
July is not peak season. Convention season typically is and that doesn’t usually start until mid to late September. Aside from school considerations and such, I’m not surprised that Evo always happens during this timeframe because July is actually pretty terrible in Vegas. Enjoy your 110+ degree weather.
Lol… 10 dollars per taxi? You can walk to most places on the strip itself, rio isn’t that far and there is shuttles to the strip itself … 20 dollar wifi? Really you need wifi that bad? Use your phone and tether, don’t really need high speed unless you’re downloading stuff at the hotel or trying to play games online instead of with your buddies or the people you meet at evo. 25 per meal? The hell… del taco has what 35 cent tacos? 25 is the cost of some buffets and most wont be going buffet every day or a restaurant for each damn meal, spending 75 in a day for three meals damn man take a break, use that money on alcohol instead of over priced meals. I’ve been to vegas a couple of times and it’s not as expensive as you’re making it be, although it can be depending on what choices you make while there lol, Regardless to each his own. And yeah july is hot real hot.
If you’re staying at the rio, and from what i can remember from evo 2k9. The rio rooms have small refrigerator you can use. SO… idk, maybe get some lunch meat me and bread and live off of that?
There’s also subway, mcdonald, panda express, wendys etc all located on the strip. So you can still grab cheap eats while you’re out there.
Dont sleep on free spectating…
haha this man knows.
The banner on the front page says save $20. Does that mean the non discounted rate will be $70?
Profound Sadness
Rio is right next to Sonic’s. There you go. Cheap ass food for the whole weekend. Now you can afford the hotel and registration!
Correct.
I have a question about registration. Can you register for a game now and decide later you want to register for another game(s) and pay another $10 (or 10x however many other games you want to compete in)?
