let me say this, if row, jmar, kuan lived in kali or nyc we would be hearing there names get a lot more recognition around this thread.

I was in LA for a whole week last week. I didn’t get to play much marvel because I was hanging out with friends and my friend’s family. If I do get a chance to go out there again, i’ll post in the Regency thread.
Sanford Kelly, I’mma holla at you in MvC2 when i come back to NYC nigga. Then we gonna go to 7/11 for slurpies. I know my nigga Yipes will be like “ayo, get meh a slurpie nigga, then imma body yo’ shit!”
Deth Syanide, wuddup cuzzo!
Ok. I was ready to counter team you, maybe that would have given me an advantage cuz msp is my team. hah But anyways, yeah, like you said just post at regency whenever you’re visiting. latez…

probably so. Thing is I hear about em in majors, and thats the only time. I know they sitll play and stuff, but some majors they don’t even show up to. So how we gonna just assume they’re top 5 on wc when we haven’t seen em play for like 8 months? the marvel community evolves every year so we don’t know if they are steppin it up or becoming stagnant like infinite and smooth diaper.
damn nigg-huh! some honest to real good shitt
man you should save this article and use it as a college paper somewhere along the line

The issue regarding ec vs. wc starts with an ideological problem. Do you take the established vets who have proven themselves, or the new guns who are hungrier and play more? I personally think the new guns are the best shot. The problem (obviously) is that people do not want these cats who haven’t placed at evo or travelled to represent the west. But seriously, who travels anymore? And placing at evo is only getting harder and harder; probably why the old heads don’t come out as much. I can say from an objective standpoint, that chunk/bill/Chris S. are the best players on the west when they are on , followed by finesse. Chris S is the most consistent of the bunch, and is bar none the best player by any standards you have. Chunk and Bill have both proven themselves as well. Watch them play and you can see how they surpass the competition. Even knowing this, how can anyone say that someone like Genghis doesn’t deserve a spot. He’s always reliable and clutch, and has the old school intensity that might be lacking in the newer guys.
The next issue is variety. Should the West Coast team exhibit what makes it so special (the diversity in styles), or should it have the best players? I do not know how to view this angle of the proposition, but I know when it comes down to it I’d rather have the better player than the player with a different team. If this is needed/wanted Clock would make a great addition to the team. His team is as gay as it gets and is hard to adapt to, making him a great asset to a one round compeition. However, if the wc wanted the best players, then clock probably would not make the team (even though he recently took down a cal poly tournament). Combo is also a player who falls into this category.
I believe at this point, its not really about the team, but the player. Marvel hasn’t really changed/evolved in years aside from refly. Having specialists like msp-only, or cable-only players i do not feel will help the team as much as just putting our best players out there. Even a player known for switching it up or having an arsenal of teams might not necessarily aid the team. Everybody kind-of knows who the best is but isn’t willing to admit it. I can say who currently is the best from recently playing them and have listed them. I think the history of the players is important i.e. tournament wins and how they fare against the players on team ec but should also be taken with a grain of salt. Since the later history of players who have recently come up doesn’t show their potential, the most recent results should be taken into consideration.
In conclusion, I don’t think the 5 on 5 will actually go down, especially since the interest in evo is as low as i’ve seen in years for the marvel community. This could go down in ohio though.

i dont think you realize that row/jmar have been mentioned several times through out this thread, everyone knows theyre good, just think about it, they haven’t involved themselves that much with tournaments as of late and dont seem to care about the 5 on 5, so what more do you want us to say?

yes the’ve been mentioned in this thread, all about how they can’t compete anymore. btw I left off my list Rat & Thoung sp? also really great players that can compete. I apologise for not mentioning them earlier because they definitely deserve respect.
yah my bad your right.
msp’s arent being abused more than ever, nor do you see msp in seattles top 3 tournaments, and msp doesnt counter mag/cable/sent or mss-a.
sorry for the confusion, hustleman.

Thanks for the name drop Potter.
I have no doubt in the determination and passion that these new gen players have. However, I haven’t really seen anything that sets them apart from the top tiers. All the great players have always brought something new to the table. Duc, Row, Soo, Combo, Justin, Yipes and so on were all ahead of their time.
The only person I see right now who is at that level is the fearless Chris Schmidt.

FREEEEEEEE.
Hustleguy, since ur obviously a hustler and i’m relatively new to the scene. How about a friendly money match? ft 10 for $1000?
=]
I haven’t played mvc2 in a year and half so I think I’ll decline. The reason I came to this thread is because I started to hear people cough; Anthonezy…
and others start bashing seattle peepz about how they can’t compete, oh well I’ll just leave and let the arguing contuine between kali and nyc cause I guess those are the only 2 places in the u.s when it comes to marvel, blah.
Why does it always have to be about money with people around this site?? learn to play and have fun without money.
nah i’m kiddin, we all know seattle beasts.
but like everyone says, LET JAGGAZ PLAY FOR SPOTS!
