He knows one or two parlor tricks but his basic gameplay is devoid of all skill! Strategy isn’t something you have to try ‘especially hard’ to do, once you get it, you don’t have to concentrate to use it.
T.K.K. - it doesn’t take a master to combo ken’s c.lk into a super. in fact it should be one of the most basic combos you learn in the beginning.
you know funny you say that… because I have a video of the Japanese player, Dan… he misses cr LK X 3 into wacky kick, he misses super combos. I have a video of Choi’s ken, and he does the cr LK X 2 into lvl 2, roll forward, and he gets a cr FP instead of a DP. And these both take place in a tournament. Now I could be wrong but your statement says people have to be 100% with this… well I think Choi’s Ken is probably one of the best in the US… and Dan’s Ken is the best altogether in the world. But they miss stuff. Now by watching one their vids… not for a second do I sit there thinking that… damn… they can’t combo a combo I do all the time. Missing combos happen… sometimes because of the sticks… sometimes due to nerves. Watching the video… I don’t think for a second that Ken did not mean to combo the super… it seems like it just didn’t happen. I don’t like to harp on execution when watching someone’s video… because there is no point… plus you never know if you are watching that one video where shit just wasn’t happening… because I really would like you to make those comments when watching a top player’s video where he misses a combo here and there.
Did he miss it three times out of three?
Did he miss it in a high pressure tournament or in casual play?
Did he miss it because of nerves, or because he doesn’t have the combo down?
These are all questions you should ask yourself before you accuse people of “harping on execution”! Thanks.
It’s like… if someone plays K Cammy. And you see them hit close fierce five times in a match while raged, and every single time, they didn’t combo into anything. You wouldn’t say “Oh, maybe he meant to do super or something but it’s a video, execution is worse than when you actually play”. You would say “Dude, if you’re going to play Cammy, at least get the no-brainer combos down. If you can’t even do these in casual play, you’re going to fall to pieces in a tourney”.
Or you would say that, if you were me.
I understand your point, of course. There are some combos that you can permit because no one gets them all the time. Things such as Chun Li st mp -> super or cr lp, cr mp -> super, for example. Those require execution and even if you’re good you won’t get them 100%. But this Ken combo is a 100% thing.
Edit: I was watching the Evo Daigo vs Ino finals. Daigo almost always gets his combos, but in one match with Cammy, he did cr lk x 3, into level 1 super. Gasp!
But wait then I checked again and he only had one level of meter. Never mind :lol:

Just to re-iterate … there are combos that you can do on reaction of hitting your opponent. Like most of Cammy’s stuff, Ryu’s cr short cr jab cr forward xx shinkuu hadoken. cr short short short xx super is one of those combos.
I can’t comment on the video since I’m on a crappy computer that will only play MIDI files, but if you can combo into super, do so. Its understandable if the joystick is messed up.
Some guy posted to do th c.mk into fp elbow with rock, it’s not safe because it won’t always connect.
T.K.K - to tell the truth i actually enjoyed watching you beat obot. but really b4 every match is there a battle meter? how the hell are we supposed to know how many games you played or under what circumstances? damn on the internet people always assume we’ve got the guidance of ms. cleo to profile every post.

. c.mk into qcb+lp/mp is safer depending on distances. qcb lp is almost like bison’s lk scisor and mp too depending on distance.
and qcb+hp acts like a gaurd break, i don’t know how useful that is though.
