Ok, now that I’ve more or less got Hugo out of the way, how should I handle Alex? In the same manner?
Hmm I coudnt help ya, I never play against an Alex.
i couldn’t make this combo … is that a late j.short? early? please explain more. :lol:
that’s not a combo - that’s a reset.
Skyl: That’s for you to find out, really. But the kara-EX uppercut WILL hit them from the other side if you do it correctly.
Answers to these will be posted in a week or so.
I’m not sure if this is news, but Makoto’s standing Strong links into crouching Short as well as standing.
Standing strong = MP?
Crouching/standing Short = LP?
Just trying to clarify the terms.
Arileth Tralare: If you’ve downloaded the Link Encyclopedia from here on SRK, would you mind telling me exactly how to do the last combo shown as part of Makoto’s snippet?
If not, can anyone else do so?
jab=lp
strong=mp
fierce=hp
short=lk
forward=mk
roundhouse=hk
and the last makoto combo in that vid was: s.strong, s.jab, s.short, jab hayate, SA1. It was done on Q, he might be the only character it works on, i’m not sure, cuz i haven’t tried it yet. It might work on a few others though, like Hugo, and Alex.
Cool. So now I can do s.MP, c/s.LK, dash punch, SAI. Very cool.
Also, those two s.MP linked together can only be done on a crouching oppenent (I assume as much, as was shown in the video).
On an end note, my friend plays with noone but Alex, so I’ll be ecstatic if that combo works on him. I’ll try it out.
Thanks Orochi Kyosuke.
actually, the s.strong, s.strong link only works if the first one is meaty, thus allowing you to hit him later in the animation (and allowing you to recover earlier relative to his hit stun).
I went back to check the video (I had a nagging feeling for some reason) and I then noticed what you’ve pointed out. A meaty followed by another s.MP into SAI.
Now I know.
I must be crazy - couldn’t get the s.MP->c.LK link to work at all today. maybe it is a meaty, or maybe it was a fluke under impossible conditions.
In any case, I’ll keep testing, and if someone else could try it out as well, that’d be great.
what are you talking about? u think urien should NEVER win against Makoto? that’s bs. urien does fine against makoto, u just have to use your brain a litte.
No way man, you’re crazy. Makoto rushes that shit down for fun. She totally dominates the matchup.
it works, but the timing is pretty tight.
also, Makoto vs anyone without an invincible wakeup is pretty much in her favor. At that point, she dictates all the guessing games, and that’s really what makes her shine. You guess wrong, and you’re back into another guessing game after taking damage. Plus, she can dash in on urien at will really, and he has nothing to really keep her from doing so.
…
I thought Makoto dominated Urien really badly too… but then I watched the cooperation cup. Tokido EASILY handles J. I know the point in this matchup is to Karakusa a lot, because Urien really can only headbutt it, and Makoto sometimes even crouches that shit. Try and watch that footage. I’m switching to SA1 for that fight so I can punish any tackles with Hayate xx Super, but I don’t really understand the matchup that well.
Its true
Makoto doesn’t dominate anyone. No character dominates any character. This is not MVC2. This isn’t Cable vs. Hulk. But seeing how this thread is filled with Makoto fanboys, I can understand why you guys are saying stuff like this.
you’re dumb.
characters are all inherently different, and because of that, will downright own certain characters. Makoto owns urien because she has the tools to get in on him and stay in. The fight is something like 7-3 in makoto’s favor. 7-3, in 3S terms, is ownage.
so just because certain characters are different, that means that some will own others? then, that means Capcom will never make a balanced fighting game unless every character is the same. you’re a retard.
also, where do you get this 7-3 from? is this like written in stone? or did the SRK post gods come up with this figure? victory mainly comes from the player, not the character. until u figure that out, don’t talk to me anymore.
