Two completely different games… One has an old-school feel with a little make-up put on it and The other is more of a new-school feel… Albeit imo 3S is a better game but, SF4 is still playable. No matter how easy the game is to jump into, alot of those links are dam hard and requires alot of precise timing… Sagat’s cr.lk,cr.lk,cr.lp > TU… just to name one. Some people take pride in performing shit like that because it’s takes alot of practice to get links like that to come out consistently and in the clutch. No doubt you can win by not doing things that’s difficult like that but you’d get your ass handed to you if you played someone who has their link game up. But then again you could get beat by a random ultra just like in 3S you can get beat by a random guessed right parry… All in all 3S is the better game but SF4 is still playable. Just maybe doesn’t deserve as much hype as it gets

you really think short short jab uppercut is hard? I was able to do it minutes after trying it. It really isn’t hard at all. If you’re new to fighting games, any link is difficult, and if you’re not and you still think it’s difficult then maybe fighting games just aren’t for you?

I don’t really see it as showing 3s players love as an easy grab at 3s players. Nobody continues playing 3s for years on end just because of some fanboy type admiration for the characters. The fact is, the mechanics of SF4 don’t facilitate the playstyle of Makoto and Dudley, and I’m not really sure Ibuki would work too well either. They will have the same moves of course, but they won’t play the same.

I’m not gonna lie, although SF4 is the future, SSF4 made it so 3S players will hate the game even more. All three 3S characters look like shit. Dudley causes me physical pain. His animation/look/voice is atrocious. Jesus Christ wtf were they thinking…

i think it would be better if when it launched ssf4 it said insert sf4 disc then scratched it up so it wouldnt work, then you put the ssf4 disc back in and it launched third strike… the perfect crime

i got bored with SF4 quick but im really gonna dig into ssf4 to rep the 3s characters. Until the gods give me a 3s hd remix or something ill keep playing 3s for life and ill play with ssf4 till i get bored maybe around october lol

but you are right though…i dont feel them adding mak, duds or ibuki as a nod to the 3s faithful

i do hope that the current US 3s players get into the game and start beasting on people. i would find a lot of joy in that

i think dudley and ibuki will be good but makoto won’t be if block stun is still fucked up.

I really do think that dudley is going to be beastly as fuck. something about watching the way he moves and the moves that can connect without a good player behind the stick makes him seem that way to me. Imagine if there was someone who was damn good at the game and familiar with duds moves in control in some footage. I have a feeling he is going to be stupid good.

Only because I don’t have a next gen system and don’t plan on getting one anytime soon. I actually enjoy playing sf4 although it is very different than 3s and oftentimes I find myself pressing twd to “Focus” an attack. :lol:

Never thought so many people had such harsh opinions towards SFIV.
Saying it’s a shit game and it sucks is something I’d expect from FPS players or something. I’m kind of used to THAT, but ‘fellow’ SF-players.
I play like both and this is the first time I’m checking out this part of the forum.
I feel like this is another dimension in the shoryuken.com forum!
