I haven’t played the game in a loooooooooooooong time(I’ll dabble once every other month or so), I’m beyond rusty, but I think with 2-3 weeks I’d be up there w/ everyone else mentioned in the thread. I think it’s like that with everyone else who dedicated time to 3s. Yeah they’re “retired”, but with a month of practice or so everyone will be in tip top shape. The whole “but they’re retired argument and therefor will suck” argument is nonsense.
In all honesty, I could care less who gets to play in this thing, just hype for 3s online, and seeing it get some exposure after being MIA from EVO for a while. Hopefully this resuscitates the 3s community, because 3s is the best game ever made…truth.

I wonder. A lot of the heavy hitters are from the west coast, but I’d love to see other areas get repped as well. Like, four from west coast, four east coast, four from the international scene, and hell, four wild card spots. I say, give one or two wild card spots to some of those cats from GGPO that might attend this so they get a chance to actually prove themselves.
Either way, I’m excited to see this go down.

After 2 days of GGPO I have a feeling ggpo players would get parried to death. I hate to say it, but 3s on ggpo is like playing ssf4…No reaction, all memorization. I know west coast has this, I will put any amount of money on that. Once I know who is playing I’ll even put money on a horse.
the only person I want for sure in the tournament is Vinny. cuz he’s so cute.
in all seriousness, I want the commentary spot more than a spot in the tournament. i’d rather teach people on the stream and mention some random interesting tidbits about matchups and characters. Hell, i even majored in Drama so my improv skills are top notch when needed!
and I also demand 7 bottles of coke be present on the screen at the same time.
Bring over some French & Italian players; their best are near-Japanese level.

so we gotta register for other games we dont play to be considered to play in this tourney?
many top 3s players are from california and are a drive away from vegas. if we can get invites beforehand it would be easier to plan and organize this event.

Joking aside, choosing from the list of registrants doesn’t seem all that efficient. A lot of the still active 3S players won’t be entering any of the games at Evo. Coordinating with Ryan on a list then trimming that down to who can actually make would be the way to go.
Edit–Just read that Renic is going. Have him take on all challengers.
I say we just give Renic the $25,000 and call it a night.

If not Rockefeller, I’d do commentary as well, but then again, C Royd does seem like the better fit. Unless C Royd lets me commentate alongside him. I will provide 8 bottles of Coke if this happens.
