Dander if youâre talking about my jump timing at Fight Club 2 then I was having a lot of trouble on that cabinet setup for a few reasons. My own fault for not playing on it more and stupidly playing a side setup of OE the night before cuz it was open. Also I couldnât get my angle right. Each side had two controls so you play off center. My square wasnât lined up if ya know what I mean. I let myself get thrown off.
Yeah, I get you. I doubt I couldâve done any better myself. Thereâs this place north of my house called the Boiler Room and they have one set up where the sticks are off-center. Funny enough, thatâs my favorite one over here but thatâs mainly due to the seimitsu stick. At least you had that OCV running. Tell Anti-Shoto to stop using that over-head chop thing. He uses that thing like itâs a metronome.

The mentality of these dudes who crawl out of the shit pile and somehow, someway, find their way to GGPO/FightCade and SRK and post away I will never understand. These dudes shit talk all day, play dumb, and then occasionally poke their head into SRK and shit post for a while and then leave and come back after 6 months or so. How many times has this happened? I donât create drama, I donât create threads to shit on someone. But no, these little schmucks who have problems feel like they can get away with this kind of shit to be funny or protect some sort of reputation. I genuinely donât get it. You got some cultural issues you need to tend to. Their behaviors speak nothing of your character. Their behavior is intentionally deceitful. I couldnât slight you, on any real basis, even if I wanted to. Not that I was. My point was in their behavior and what it says of them and how they deal with their problems. If your personal pride keeps you from seeing that, then they did their job and, youâre right, I now am an asshole. Honestly, though, they arenât about personal respect. Hence the reason they look to the mass of people to get their justification.

If you need an example of stuff like this, look to the reverse racists. They say one thing, turn around and do another and then accuse you of racism just so they can get away with it. You ever been injured, very badly, and then had people in your âcommunityâ start adding insult to injury? What about having some of them exacerbate the problem? What about when you had seniority in a community like that? Even friends, who then turned their back on you? This is how people tend to be when they donât have that personal discipline that TOP players have. It takes a lot of work. Iâm not a top player, maybe idk what constitutes a top player nowadays what with autism levels flooding the system and seeping into the core, but I know some top players, tippy top in america, and although they werenât the most active members in the community when they did take part they did so on the basis that they have something to share with us and left it at that. How accepting you were of the knowledge/information was on you.

Nuki used to remind me of Shooter McGavin. Heâs got it and you canât deny it and boy is he a natural in front of the camera. That dynamic kinda let me look past the glory and into what I thought I saw of these players. Iâm going to be learning from them, so their character must speak to me. If it doesnât, I chalk it up to ignorance, which is usually a cop out because Iâm lazy or something, or I see some contrary position that I probably noticed in the other players and wonât do it on some grounds for remedial holdings.
I lost a friend last week at a pc cafe. He didnât die. We were playing league of legends and he got pissed that I didnât want to use Doranâs Blade and instead wanted to save up my creep money for a strong weapon that would net me more kills and a run away advantage on other heroes, I was playing Ashe. He argued rudimentary principles like more beats less, heal 2% beats heal none, +70 health is more than base and refused to understand that I was waiting for a bigger pay off because my problem wasnât getting kills, it was keeping them off of me because never had a decent tank. He got all kinds of pissed on the grounds that the best players used his strategy, ended up being that my strategy was a perfect alternative, and then even tried to get physical with me. After that, he conned me into some shit using basic ass knowledge and concluded with the notion that his con proved Doranâs Blade was the better strategy on the grounds that he had a better strategy in the short game. I didnât even know how to read the character stats sscreen, I thought it was kills assists deaths but it was actually kills deaths assists. That was his proven point. I point out to him that I agreed to it on the grounds that I had an immense respect for him as a person and that I had already made it clear to him how I read the stats screen. He didnât want to hear it. I reminded him I was going to pay but also explained that stuff to him because I could tell he just going to do some other rash thing. He had already gotten pissy earlier about some unrelated shit that supposedly came as a surprise to him. Anyway, he kept throwing out the fact that he was a tournament player, or at least among the ranking individuals. But he couldnât understand the strategy. Just the resulting statistic that made for the greater percentage of wins.
Having players like that in any community hinders the progress of the community. They have been appealed to by the rising star players, the guys that arenât at the top yet so they can bring themselves down a few levels. Their word becomes bond and the experience they already have feels like its been validated by this other player. They win, and say to themselves itâs because those other players gave them the recipe to success. Those same rising stars donât make it to the top as quickly as theyâd like without stepping on some toes on the way up. The Louis of the world. The Kurodas. The Hayaos. I think you see where Iâm going with this.
