Yep, that’s also true, but, as I’ve said, its also dependent on the software. Cel shading something that low poly in the programs I use, Poser or 3DS495 (not max, the DOS version) would look… not presentable in the case of Poser, and impossible in the case of 3ds495. It would be like trying to do a tranparency multi-layer raster image in MS Paint – impossible, but given enough time and talent, one can make a reasonable illusion of such.
And no matter what the results (that etna was simply fantastic) you’ll never catch me saying things like “hey, that’s 40x easier than what this other guy is doing”. I guess that’s what I was really reacting to.
I see what your saying, everyone has a different learning curve. some might learn faster than others. Thanks for the replies, hope you post some more stuff in the future.
thx for the reply… I was wondering: If cel shading is generally easier, and given the anime craze, why don’t more companies use it in their projects? Is there some reason for this, like it not looking good in certain angles / lighting situation?
