Someone said 2DF enforces frame smoothing, which is probably why it’s laggier than normal P2P.
Ok I voted for awesome now.
Very strange today
I played a few guys in the USA in 3S, good games, but some lag and everything.
Then I played a guy from Japan, it was perfect.
Really strange. He couldn’t beat me, but he could charge buffer with Oro.
That is the strangest thing, because I thought that if it would lag, it would affect both of us, but neither of us lagged.
It’s definately awesome.
I think is gloriously FABULOUSSSSSSSSSSSSS the only thing that needs fixing is the frame skipping thats all. Something funny that I noticed is that when I play against people far FAR away like having a ping of 300 it plays better than someone with a good ping O.O like 180 77 ping I dont quite get it… my case ofcourse. but so far so great.
2DF is nowhere near as good as GGPO, but it’s a nice replacement for games GGPO doesn’t support / when GGPO is down (like right now).
2DF is solid, but under GGPO at the moment IMHO because:
- no spectating
- no savestates
- input is not as consistent
but the quick progress shown so far since inception makes things very interesting and promising… so i vote Awesome!
good times for fighting games enthusiasts!
voted awesome… ggpo never worked for me so i can’t compare the two but I can’t imagine it being any better.
Not for me.
- No support for Art of Fighting 2, SVC Chaos Boss Edition (NOBODY plays svc normal version)…
- Shit never starts a game when I offer a challenge… shit just hangs there and waits forever…
- It’s still connecting to a server full of connections from around the world… so how is this any different then kaillera when your description says “Cuts out the middle man server” when it does the same thing…?
- No 4 player games…
-
You can request support for games that aren’t there.
-
What waits, the person accepting or the game starting after they accept?
-
It’s not the same thing. When you play through kaillera server, you aren’t playing p2p. The kaillera server is the middle man.
grr… svc on nfba has horrid button combinations for the inputs…
ABC- only used by 1 character… and that character is not selectable in the svc version game…
BCD- is only shared by 2 characters in the whole game…
ABCD - is only used by 1 character in the game…
What they need is the setups for everything that is used…
AC, BD, BC, ABC, BCD, ABCD
You can set any button macros you want. Theres a tutorial in the 2df forums.
Reading up on it… uhhhhh
and all this complaining about it…
So why is it capcom games get 3 Punch and 3 kick yet neogeo gamers don’t get what they use? Not everyone plays on a stick or prefers/has to but if they give the capcom games that support for their “3P/3K” then why can’t neogeo gamers have theirs?
That always happens to me too. Seems like it usually takes two challenges for it to work.
I’ve been having a blast using 2DF - it’s the first time I play fighting games over the internet, so I’m happy getting some competition. The only minor disadvantage is that everytime I put on a solid performance there’s never any replay.
he probably figured you could handle hitting 2 buttons at once
It’s easy to play on a stick but not everyone has the option to do so. So if capcom games had their beloved 3P/3K macros, then they should’ve put the proper SNK games too.
3P and 3K are probably on there since people playing on keyboard can’t hit that combination as keyboards, by in large, don’t support the pressing of more than two keys at the same moment.
I can just as easily hit two buttons at once on my stick as on my gamepad. You don’t need macros for that.
Yeah, for capcom games it’s easy. But that’s not as complicated as KOF games when you have to shift your pad to get an angle to hit 2 keys with 1 finger in the middle of ackward combos. I use the original arcade setup:
AC
BD
And it’s not always easy, but I’m cool. I got it working now.
yo you map your buttons wow i thought you was pro.:wtf:
