I really am looking for anyone who would like to play competitively from around the area since its difficult to find anyone from the middle east playing on PC.
Heh, you don’t need a top-of-the-line machine to run SF4. Not even close. You can get it to run at max FPS on anything reasonably modern. The computer I run it on cost < $600 3 years ago and I could probably run 3 or 4 instances of the game at the same time.
Anyway, I can’t speak for anybody else but I get far more people sending me angry messages after I beat them than on console.
Yea, but people aren’t buying gaming machines to play just SF, they buy it to play more demanding games, or run high end emulators. You can build a gaming pc top of the line for like 800 bucks or so, but most teens aren’t going to do that. And a $600 machine is still 2x a $300 dollar machine. It’s safe to say that the vast majority of children play on consoles. It’s also a lower learning curve to use and has less issues. You don’t have to worry about why your speaker isn’t working and if your drivers are up to date, etc.
It looked like you were arguing with that guy. Nonetheless there are exceptions to everything. I find console kids to be way more bratty, especially on headset.
Agreed, that looks provoked. I’ve played on consoles(both of them) as well and always get more general salt and sore losers there, actually just one of the reasons to enjoy PC. They each have benefits and drawbacks but this isn’t a console vs. PC thread.
Yea they both have their advantages. I have this on PC and PS3, both are fun. I like the console community being big definitely.
That was a while ago, but IIRC, I ran into that guy and beat him 3 or 4 straight and he sent me “I don’t know why I’m losing to you, you don’t even have footsies” or something (I was using Makoto, so no shit I didn’t have footsies). Then I beat him 7 or 8 out of the next 10 or so games, got bored and decided to get off the computer and do something else, and sent him “stay free” to rub salt in the would since he was already acting like a salty fool. Either way, I’m sort of surprised that a few peeps are acting so defensive over the idea that there are retards on that platform too. I’m not hating on the PC community. All I’m saying is that in my experience, I’ve gotten way more hate mail on PC than on consoles. It’s probably not because one community is intrinsically more “mature” than the other, it’s probably because it’s easier to type out messages on the PC. Or it’s just me. Or things have changed in the past few months since I don’t play much on PC anymore. Not because people are more prone to be salty on PC in my experience, since I take that kind of thing as a badge of honor anyway. But because the level of competition on PC is pretty low and it makes things kinda boring.
The point is that you don’t need to have a gaming PC to run AE. Most reasonably modern machines will run it, whether it’s built with gaming in mind or not.
Nobody said there weren’t immature people on PC, there are immature people everywhere. We were just saying there was less of it on the PC because there is an older audience. You provoking someone might be why they had their response. I haven’t had really any salty emails (one guy was bitter), and I have a lot of friends, most PC players say they have the same experience.
I wasn’t talking about just AE, I was talking about gaming in general. From shooters to fighters. A machine suitable for modern gaming will cost 3x more than a console at least. Consoles are cheaper and easier to use therefore they have more teenagers and children playing them.
Nothing wrong WITH consoles, it’s just something to look out for. Consoles also have a larger FG community, so it’s an advantage it has over the PC as well.

I don’t really dispute that. I’m disputing the idea that this is as relevant to AE PC as it might be to Crysis 2 or something. You don’t need a $1.5k-$2k gaming rig to play AE PC since the game is like 4 years old and you can turn the graphics pretty low. And the game wasn’t even hard to run when it came out on PC 3 years ago. I would hazard a guess that most teenagers have a computer that can run AE PC. If not, their parents probably do.
Nobody disagreed with your experience, it doesn’t change the fact that I’m right. You quoted me saying “super mature” like I was blatantly wrong or something. Which I’m not. And there’s no way you could know if there were far less mature people based on a few experiences of your own that you argued with someone. You clearly either keep arguing or provoke people, it’s evident by the email. Post the whole argument and then I’ll believe he confronted you first.
That said I could care less who provoked who, you were arguing with him which is likely why you have the same experience. My point was not he say-she say, it is proven in the messaging thread itself that most complaints are from console gamers. You can look that up anywhere. Your 4-5 provoking friends mean nothing.
Did I ever say you needed a modern 2k gaming machine to play a 4 year old game (just with updated characters)? No. I said they cost far more and younger people won’t have access to it. Generally only hardcore people are going to get a gaming rig or build one, the parents don’t know enough about gaming computers generally speaking to buy one. Most kids are NOT playing games on PC, they’re playing them on the console, and that is a fact. Most people don’t have a gaming computer just to play a fighting game anyways because fighting games have lousy support on PC’s.

Never claimed that everyone had the same experience I did. And you’re not disagreeing that I had that experience, but in the same breath you claim that your own anecdotal experience means that the PC community is indisputably more mature than the console community? I wasn’t talking about my own anectdotal evidence though (not entirely). I said “in general” which means more often than not, but not always. Learn the difference. I wonder if you are on of these console kids, lol. I also mentioned the gaming messaging thread, and that you can find numerous accounts quite easily of kids going crazy on PS3/Xbox 360 than you do on PC. There are some casual games like Wow that have a large number of kids though, but that isn’t the norm.
You quoted my post and said “real mature” in a sarcastic tone as if you were making it seem like I was far off. As I and other people said a dozen times. Yes there are exceptions to that, so what? If you think that the console kids are more where your cup of tea is, then that’s your own idea. But younger people play more on consoles, as young as 8,9. and 10 (I have cousins who have gaming consoles, it’s not rare) are playing on them. So that’s where much of the immaturity comes from. Not to mention the Wii.
