Wasn’t it “Madden” that pretty much stopped Tecmo’s shine with Super Tecmo Bowl? And I think the cause of the Madden Curse is simple. They took Madden of the cover of the game. I bet you Madden was pissed. :lol:

Apparently Madden wasn’t too happy. Its obvious he’s the source of the curse. I doubt a lot of the kids who play Madden even know who he is, inciting the anger of the football gods. :shake: EA dabbled with putting players on the PAL boxart in 99 and 00, and even they were cursed. :shake:

Only person to stave off the curse a fraction was Larry Fitzgerald, who had seemingly average season, and that was because he was on the cover with Troy Polamalu who ate the majority of it.

Honestly, I wonder why they didn’t just go for more two guys on cover campaigns then acting like it is a prize.

I just ran across it a few hours after First Take and some college stuff on ESPN2 when I was home yesterday. Dunno if they have on demand stuff for that(they do the 30/30 films though).

It’s fun though, lots of NFL players reminiscing about it and then a bunch on tournament in Madison. They’re up to Tecmo Super Bowl 2013 on the mod market, all 32 teams, accurate rosters. It’s pretty sweet.

And there’s one thing I’m curious about Tecmo Super Bowl 2 & 3. Both are basically the same exact game just 3 has the expansion teams and a few tweaks. Tecmo Super Bowl 2 on snes & genesis is actually a bit rare too. Why did they release two games that are so much just like each other? Never actually figured that out.

Normally, I’d say Jennings because he’s been forced to the starters role but they are going against Green Bay, which means, short of Jacksonville’s defense playing their best game of the season, the offense will be playing catch up and probably airing it out.

I agree with Tien Gouki, Turner is on the decline and normally wouldn’t start him but the question is do you think the Jags are going to be able keep it close enough with Green Bay that Rashard Jennings gets touches or can Turner who hasn’t gotten over 50 yards in half of his games can get it against the Eagles defense.

hmm, yea basically what i was thinking. if you dont have a good defense going against green bay, then they force you into a shoot out, so yea, maybe jennings isnt a good option. I also have felix jones, but giants have a good run defense.

Not really.

They have about the same stats, but Martin has 29 carries while AP has 15. Minny can’t even keep the ball enough to do anything. Turnovers always kills.
