Trust me Iāve been watching NCAA/NBA and playing for over 20 years. Currently there are less than 10 coaches that make a heavy impact on the game. The best of them make a slightly above average impact, and most coaches make very minor impact.
Tim Izzo is one of those coaches that does slightly above average.

Like I said Tom Izzo great great great coach, but more important than the coach are the players. You want to know who has the most NBA title as a coach? Phil Jackson. Look back to the mid 2000ās when he had Kobe and a bunch of bums they didnāt do anything. Dean Smith = great coach. When did he finally win his title? Oh when he had Worthy and some guy named Michael Jordan. Hell Coach K great coach, but when was the last time they won something? Greg Pop in San Antonio = amazing coach, but guess what? His team sold and the Spurs are a shell of what they use to be. Rick Pitino = somewhat good coach goes into the NBA then what? he stinks it up. Came back to college and did amazing with Louisville last year when they had great players. His best player T-Will leaves for the NBA. What happened this year? Louisville lose in the first round to Cal. Billy Donovan = back to back championship with Flordia, what have they done since? Ben Howland back to back final four. What have they done since? All these coaches are great, but without players they are nothing. Coach give you a slight edge, but it doesnāt determine the game. Unlike football where coaches are much more vital.
Great coach = asset.
Great players = victories, and losses.
