2010 Arcade income translation (The results may surprise you)

I’m really happy to see ST so high in the list, that game will never die. Also cool to see KOF doing well and Acent Core still being very popular regardless of Blazblue.

`_-. Baby don’t play with my heart.

Why is Gundam listed twice? I understand newest is Gundam Extreme VS., so that excludes that.

GvGN+ is still really popular in Japan.

I still lol @ peoples confidence in console VF5FS.

hope I’m proven wrong but eeeeehh.

I think some games have regular cabinets and some have dedicated cabinets. Added the full names to the list.

ST will never die.Everyone can play it at a basic level which intrigues people enough to just pop in a 50yen/25cents/50p coin when they see it.The game is really fast too so you can get a good rotation of players going quickly, meaning more money is going into the machine.whereas SF4 is like 4 minutes per game after all is said and done.

Mind explaining how you summed up VF5 and MB?

3810+1456=5266

winning eleven is dope haha

Oh man, I didn’t notice VF and MB are really listed twice on the top 20. I thought you were doing ratios from the top and bottom chart.

Oh wow surprised ZAFT 2 is still that popular 0_o.

Do we know this is statistically sound? I don’t have anything against VF or MB, they’re great games, but I’m just surprised they’re so high on the list and I’m not sure whether it’s a valid list or not, just like Arcadia’s lists. Not that it really matters.

Everyone in the know knows that the way Arcadia gets its data is heavily flawed. There is no doubt that Tekken, Gundam, and Virtua Fighter are consistent money makers. Those games are the bread and butter of many large arcades. However SFIV was a huge money maker for many months after it debuted and Arcadia made it seem like the game was struggling to even break into the top ten in some months. Some months they even hilariously had 3S beating SFIV. Now I’d love to think that 3S was beating SFIV consistently in Japan, but according to everyone I know in Japan, that was simply not the case. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if SFIV was a better money maker than Blazblue and Virtua Fighter in 2010 but who knows with Arcadia.

The correct translation for the Gundam SEED games is Alliance vs. ZAFT, by the way. Renpou (the Earth Federation from Federation vs. Zeon) and Rengou aren’t the same entity, and Sunrise had the English name for that one determined as the Earth Alliance in advance. (you’ll also see O.M.N.I. vs. ZAFT around because technically the Earth Alliance military is O.M.N.I. Enforcer, but that doesn’t make much sense since it’s not used as a direct substitute for Rengou).

I knew a lot of people stuck with AvsZII when the original Gundam vs. Gundam came out because it was slower and missing some subsystems, but I had figured everyone moved on after NEXT. I guess in terms of advantages some people might prefer not having assists, the air combat is still a bit more developed, and well, people do like Gundam SEED. The main characters refuse to drop off of Newtype’s character polls, so there’s a fanbase around.

indeed it is

have you seen what game is on the 10th position of the list of this month
SBX, lol
yeah i know that arcadia has some whak way to measure the top ten, but i really doubt that sfiv made more money than bbcs or vf on 2010 only because its an outdated version of the game

I really hope what you said is true, but where did you get these info from?

Hey thanks for clearing that up! Much appreciated.

So does that mean the current arcade income listed is (more) accurate? I think it makes sense - actually, I’m surprised arcade SFIV is that high, considering its 2 iterations behind. Also surprised to see ST (HSF version or not) and 3S still sticking around in the top twenty.

GG and 3S getting some love! damn i need to go to Japan for sure

tbh, i think KOF13 deserves to be that low. I absolutely hated that game. Too much potential gone too waste. Hoepfully we will see Garou 2 sometime soon with HD sprites considering their losing alot of money to SF, Tekken, etc.

Sometimes I wish that i could buy an arcade when im 30 and just fill it with Street Fighter and Vs. titles lol

Actually, KOF XIII isn’t really doing bad. It’s somewhat low in the list only because it’s been out for a short time, but its monthly revenue has been quite good.

I really don’t understand what seems to be so bad about it. After the raiden patch I haven’t seen anything fundamentally bad in the game.
