Oh Kim…

People are slackin.
The Great Nation of Greats that is NK held an election with an astounding 99.9% turnout!

…Of course, everyone has to vote… even the defectors.
But how can defectors vote without…
oh yeah… uh…

Yeah, not-so-sneaky bastards. One hell of a way for a census, though.

So fighter jets have flown really low by my school for the 3rd time today. They were also doing so on Friday and my kids kept screaming “Airplane!” when they flew by, making it nigh impossible for me to teach.

I can’t see anything being reported that fatass has said to make them do that, but apparently shit is getting real up in here.

EDIT ARGH

I actually read his book. Good read if you’re looking for quarantine e-book pickups. “Aquariums of Pyongyang” is the title.

It wasn’t his father, it was his grandfather, and his crime was speaking critically about the regime.

Other good books: Escape from Camp 13, Nothing to Envy

Michael Malice wrote a book about NK after spending some time there. I haven’t read it yet but it’s on my list and is supposed to be pretty good.

There’s another one that’s got a wild take on it, called “The Reluctant Communist” by Charles Jenkins and am halfway through. He was one of the soldiers that walked across the border after the ceasefire and wound up becoming North Korean citizens.
